Vegetative Growth Q&A

Recommended Posts

basicly when you start to get more full leafs it has finihed the final part of the germination stage and it begins to look a bit mroe like a cannabis plant this is what i would call the border line between a seedling and the "Veg" stage , BUT then again with that said techincly vegative growth is any growing of leafs and or tissue in the non flowering stages of the plants life so a seedling really is a veging plant

perhaps if you asked your question in another way getting to what you wanted I would be able to help further , are you trying to judge when to start giving the plants nutrients? changing their lighting to HID and want to make sure they are ready, ect ..... or is it just something you where wondering ?

yeah it depends on the properties of the particular strain you are growing and also the distinction between seedling and veg growth are blurred especially with indoor mj as really you just about go from seedling to flower in a lot of cases.

Technically speaking when a plant is sexually mature ie alternating nodes and/or showing preflowers it has finished is seedling stage growth and started its vegetative growth, however at this same point or very soon after is when most indoor growers have to turn to flower to keep height under control. So we view veg growth as everything between a rooted sexually mature plant to when we turn to flower.

the other time when growth usually accellerates is when you first turn to flower and again it depends on the strain but a lot of strains tend to stretch a lot during the first couple weeks of flower.
