yet from everyone that i've spoken too and everything i'v read its suppost to be 12/12.

now were just arguing over whats right and wrong. can someone please confirm whats right and wrong.

Light cycles like 8 on 16 off can be used to sex seedlings quickly when a new batch of seeds is grown out, but its not used in a normal grow as it will do nothing but grow smaller plants with a smaller yield (but with a quicker finishing time) The other situation its used is in the final stages of growing a strain that takes longer than usual to finish, say 12-14 weeks. Sometimes you need to reduce the light hours in the last 2-4 weeks back to 10 or even 8 hours to fully ripen the plant for harvest as some can adapt to the 12/12 lighting schedule and not finish off as well as they could.

thats probably where your mate has got confused.

The aim of the game is to give your plant as much light as possible but still giving it the minimum dark period to make it flower. :peace:

15 mins every hour in clay pebbles. and havent cut roots at all. :peace: another thing were arguing over.

but i plant on cutting roots tomorrow as the leaves are drooping a bit,

by clay pebbles you mean clay balls from the hydro shop I right?

I doubt cutting the roots will solve your drooping problem. Its more likely you got root rot with that watering schedule. watering for 15 minutes every 2-3 hours is more like what you should be aiming for IMO. Check your roots aren't turning brown or producing funny smells as these are signs of trouble.
