This seems strangely familiar.

I get the exact same look on some of my plants near the end of seasons. Probably just the winter cold. Although mine have never really twisted like that, so it's possible it's a difficiency, or a combination of the two. I'll leave the doctor stuff for the pros. From the photos the plants look like they're well into bloom, in which case I wouldn't bother with trying to fix it, just let them finish. The plants look decent enough to survive a little cold weather so I wouldn't stress, unless it's going to frost in the area, then you should protect them.

Happy harvest to your friend

first picture could be spider mites (look for black specs which are the eggs on the underside of the leaves also look for little spider things)

could also be zinc deficiency I believe.

second picture could be winter frost as rhizo has said. purple varieties like that turn extra purple in cold wether.

could also be magnesium deficiency I believe.

there is a site you can look at for things like this but I can't remember it, someone else would know the one I mean

in the first pic, it looks like the damage is on the older shade leaves while the smaller leaves from the side branches look fine which to me would mean you are getting a nutrient lockout :peace: the pH might be off or another nute is in such abundance in the soil that it is locking some other nutes out, imo chances are its a pH lockout...but thats easy enough to fix :guitar: just get some plain water that has been pH adjusted to around 6.2 - 6.5 and water the plant untill you have heaps of water coming out the bottom that looks clean or if you hav an ec meter, when the ec is close to the same as the water you are flushing them with....if the plant is in the ground, i would give it about 30L or more of water as that should act like a flushing

second pic looks like the plant is well and truely into flower, but suffering from the cold temps outside  if you can block most of the wind from touching your plant, it will warm the area up a little, but imo its too much of an effort to go to at this stage of flowering so i would just let it go and hope for the best :xcited:

Gday Billo,

Just a quick 2c for those two pics ,

1st Pic -Yep , Looks like a nutrient defficiancy and or lockout are givin it a hard time , couldn't hurt to take the previous advice :guitar: , but Its very late in the season , so The actual bud shouldn't be killed off or abything befor you harvest

2nd Pic -Cool man , I reckon that plant looks like it will be a rather nice smoke indeed , when It gets cold , This can shock some plants and do all sorts of things , I reckon purple and a few twisted leaves in the bud are no worries at all. With my purple the leaves twisted in the bud just because it was to dense for them to grow any other way :peace:

Any Idea how long till you will pick them?

Anyhoo ... ... Budman Out. :xcited:

Hey Bill, is it winter where your mate is?

If so the vegging plant might need a hothouse. I agree it looks like it's getting lashed by pests. Maybe also rasping sucking type, like thrip or gnats? Any of them around?

I'd also be interested to hear if he has fed it any seasol?

The second pic does look like she got cold. Has she slowed growing heaps lately? If so, hothouse for her too. If shes ripe enough and there's no more growth left in the season where your mate is.... :xcited:

Have fun with it Bill :guitar:

hey there billo now if i remember you are in vic so if ya mate is as well then that would explain the purple in the second photo perfectly the frost and cold would be hitting that plant pretty hard tell him to get a small hot house for next time or just grow indoors throught this time of year that second plant should be ok if left though not much you can do with it now

with the first pic i had this same problem last grow and i beleive it to be a lock out or posibly caused by fungus gnats as i had fungus gnats that i think then caused the lock out i would cut out the nitrosol as flowering plants dont need as much nitrogen in the soil and this may be locking out ya other nutes and tell him to give his plant abit of a shake and if really small fly thing (like a fruit fly) start flying around then he got fungus gnats i would also cut out the seasol and give a really good flush with ph adjusted water and get some other nutes someone else will be able to help ya with that as i dont know which ones are the best for outdoors

hope this helps and hope they get better for ya mate
