Disability Pension Help?

Just wondering if anyone has recently applied for the disability pension lately (in Australia) and whether the stories about their doctors being arseholes when they check you over are true, can anyone let me know about their experiences with the doctors and the Centrelink review panel?

If you were on the dsp before the new rules came in you are sweet every thing stays the same, u get a review every 5 years and dont hear anything from em inbetween but from what i under stand this is going to change as well.

 

Any one that gets on the dsp now wont keep it long the way it is now centerlink are fuck wits most of the time the left hand dosent know what the rite one is doing.

think its $499 per fortnight for over 25's than ya add rent assistant,phone,mobile,sickness alowance etc and ur laughing

If you're a couple it goes down from that. I think it's more like 440 or so base rate though, mind you, I haven't checked this recently.

I'm not sure how much the payment is sorry, but you can work out the rate that centrelink will pay you by going HERE, scrolling down to the third green box called 'Payment Enquries' and selecting option number 3, 'Centrelink Rate Estimator'.

oh well once my crop is ready I will have money too (I won't have to buy weed anymore!!!!) that will save me around $90-$160 a week :doh:
