Cannabis smoker banned from driving

Recommended Posts

A South Australian woman who smoked cannabis before a crash which killed her teenage friend has been fined and banned from driving for six months.

Kay Ellen Colman, 22, had smoked four "cones" of cannabis before she rolled her car near Wilmington in the state's mid-north in November 2003.

Her 14-year old passenger was killed.

Ms Colman was this week found not guilty of causing death by dangerous driving, but guilty of the lesser charge of driving without due care.

District Court judge Michael Boylan sentenced Colman on the basis that her driving was not impaired by the cannabis.

He added that smoking it before taking the wheel was an act of "gross selfishness."

He disqualified Colman from driving for six months and fined her $700.

Gee, the ABC is so anti-cannabis these days! Howard's way must have really infiltrated the editorship of the station. It's like a Nazi propaganda beacon. God, they suck. B) Where are the headlines for influences and driving along the lines of:

"A woman took a sedative and drove a car..."

"A woman was hung-over from the night before and drove a car..."

"A woman smoked five Cuban cigars and drove a car..."

"A woman took just under the legal limit of alcohol and drove a car..."

"A woman took 15 cans of Red Bull and a Panadol and drove a car..."

"A woman got distracted by a mobile phone while driving a car..."

It is because it's not part of ze propaganda campaign! Seig Heil!

Indeed raver, i did speak to a producer in ABC radio, as they ran the early report of poly-drug use by the defendant , as opposed to the online written report ?

producers take was that occasionally errors happen with tight deadlines in radio, but these are corrected in the following bulletin...... but did not know of the instance in question ? yea right :P

these days the abc is very timid of opposing the govt. policies and has come under attack often by this government which appoints the board , only recently the government abolished the one and only position on the board that was held by an employee elected person.

but isin't that like all goverment departments now?.....at the slightest hint of a complaint no one knows anything about it....no one has the guts to take any responsibility it seems :nea:

:P
