looks heaps like fungal gnat damage :peace: can you see any almost microscopic black flies around your plants and crawling over the medium? if so then you can be sure its gnat damage :peace:

i recommend a product called "Maverik" its made by yates, can be purchased at big-w or your local nursery and it'll kill them fuckers off in less than a week

is dm zone the same as dm guardian? i know dm was renaming alot of its products last year and if they are the same product, the gnats dont like the shit all that much, but imo it doesnt do anything to get rid of them :peace:

imo the only effective way to get rid of gnats is poison, but then your biggest hassle will be preventing any more entering the grow room :peace:

hi someone

with the strecth you experienced early on, lack of light causes stretch, but ive also found that if i run the nutes too low after they have kicked off (eg 250ppm which is clone strength) they stretch, so i up them to 700 ppm once they have kicked on. generally - less nutes = more stretch, more nutes = less stretch. less nutes = absorb more water vs nute ratio, and vice versa. obviously you dont want to go too strong early on though. 700 ppm if fine then i up to 1200 after second week.

how did u go with the dm zone? i had knats, tried eveything on em, including microbial, fongarid, h202 (oxyplus), and maverik drench. nothing totally killed them. i ended up beating them by:

1. covering all inlets with stocking to prevent entry (this also stopped spider mite)

2. covering all my rockwool surfaces with panda plastic, this stopped the algae forming which attracted them.

now i just use oxyplus in my nutes (every 2-3 days, 2ml per 10 litre) and i havent had knats for 6 months.

i say go with the maverik drench. do it twice. i did it at half strength once cause it was late in bloom. do it twice like wantdachronic says and repeat after 7 days. and spray the adults, i used mortein house and garden for them.

when u have them, the symptoms i was getting were symptomatic of pythium, which is what the little bastards carry. when the larvae chew the roots. the fly's themselves dont cause any probs. symptoms are dying tissue on the leaves. sporadic

there a prick im just happy there gone. ps dont waste your money on microbial i used so much of the shit and they just drank it up! even oxyplus wont kill em.
