Two charged over cannabis set-up

TWO men have been charged with drug offences after police found a sophisticated hydroponic cannabis set-up in a house in Wollongong.

 

Officers from the drug unit raided a home on Mount Brown Road, Dapto, about 3.30pm (AEST) yesterday, finding 139 cannabis plants, a NSW police spokeswoman said.

 

About 170 seedlings and 1.89kg of cannabis leaf were also found.

 

Two men, aged 37 and 41, were charged with indictable cultivation, supply and possession offences.

 

The younger man was found to be an illegal immigrant, the spokeswoman said.

 

The men were refused bail and will appear in Wollongong Local Court today.
