Leaf mutation

Recommended Posts

This I hope is good enough to show the malformaed leaves. post-5398-1145334077_thumb.jpg

It is AK - "a gratious gift" :peace: post-5398-1145334212_thumb.jpg She is lookling just fine. OD'ed on nutes slightly for aa short time but is ok now in that regard. I suspect a high PH may be the cause but will want your opinions.

When inspecting the leaf formation I first thought a bug eating them. I could not find any and thought it could be thee result of too high PH. On recall I think I have been feeding at EC 1.8 & PH 6.2 - 6.3 - could this be a simple problem like PH ?

Thanks for your opinions peeps. :peace:

dsyfer ... I haven't seen any deformed leaves on either of my two AK grows???

I didn't get to PM you - never mind & thanks.

I'm pretty sure it is the result of PH being to high. The reason I say this is based on the lead between the veins are swollen. The best way to discribe it is that the cells look swolen. None are busting which is good :peace:

I not only have it on AK but also the clones. I will take steps to lower the PH to 5.8 and see what happens.

Thanks

Hi Tom ...

The last leaf in the first picture looks like something may have had a nibble

That's exactly what I thought, but I checked with a mag glass and also inspected under lights.

I couldn't find anythiing. At least not yet. :peace:

It looks suspiciously like a large nibbling greem grub . . . . . . . . . . . . .. :crybaby:

The plant (AK) is just supplying some clones of which 1 will be a keeper. I'm delibrately keeping it in a 4" pot for now and about to give her a trim and pot up soon.

The only other parculular thing I noticed was that the space between the viens of leaves (normally a generous green) looked like it had water under the, but with-in the leaf cells. A sort of a swollen area(s) . . .

I'll do a realibration on the PH meter, make some nutes up for there next feed in 2 days time and making sure the EC is lower, say 1.6, and with a PH set at 5.8.

:peace: Back in 2 days with how it is going :peace:

And I have a very proud & dope friendly Cat (Puma).............. :crybaby: but what would I be looking for. He dosn't smoke or eat.

Generally he just keeps am eye on things. Ony mice I have seen in the last 2 yrs have been dead ones the cat has got.

No thoughts on the suspected high PH Tom ?

This level of leaf disgfigurement I generally put down to ? :peace:

A bit of a mystry :xcited:

Nah, there is none of the blistering or yellowing that come with PH problems, those leaves look to be physically damaged to me and it is not unusual for cats, dogs and rodents to develop a taste for fresh mj.

Nitram, hey heres your problem(s), 1 tom was right you got some nibbiling, probably the cat, see when cats and dogs and most animals alike get a stomach ach or upset stomach from to much hair licking or something they ate the eat grass weeds marinuana any type of greenery really to help their stomach and puke. see animals dont have a gag reflex so there stomach works in reverese but there something in the greenery that helps them get sick, 2 you need to transplant to a bigger pot, rule of thumb for every foot of vertical growth i gallon of soil, the roots are probably begining to lock up and its causeing malformation of the leaves to get her some more room to grow her feet, as far as p.h. toms right agin no real sighs of hi p.h. 6.5 is pretty close to perfect for p.h. 5.8 is kinda low so good luck hope i helped.
