DWC PICTURES

Recommended Posts

Hey all, I spent most of the arv today trying to find that tutorial that "overgrow" used to show, along with one they had for keeping like 50 bonsai mother plants under just a halve dozen fluoros, a grow chamber some bloke runs at work he calls the "Monolith" etc...

I couldn't find any decent ref. at all to DWC. A young fella I know wants to start growing, and so I spent the day explaining several different systems he could consider. I wanted just one picture of how large a plant can grow in DWC so he could grasp the concept of what could be achieved in that method.

Please...if anyone has any links to such a page that shows the weights that can be grown this way, I'd very much appreciate it.

Thnaks heaps everyone.

Wow Chato, I just checked out the grow, awsome stuf mate.

Unusual lighting, can I ask you how you feel they went, and why you took the air cooling systems off them at some point during the grow.

Basically, as a rule of thumb (I'm helping this guy set up his first grow, and he's gonna sink some real cash into it); would you think I should advise him (and help him) look into that light system you have there, or do you think after obviously using a variety of lighting, "conventional" low bay fixtures of generic type//brand (as we do as a rule) or another are the way to steer him?

I hadn't even seen those lights before, but I feel confident to set them up for him if you think they're superior to what most of us plebs use.

Of course cost could come into this, I haven't even dreamnt what each light such as those might cost.

I usually use air cooled low bay fixtures like most of us, but for his first grow, because some arsehole sold him a 12 pot dripper system second hand for more than he could have bought new (not even bareing the fact we could have built it ourselves_. But he has it now, and it's set in a two row fixed device channel.

I was going to light track a 1K light over it for his first grow, while he sorts out the cash to get another system going (hence my interest in DWC).

So long winded as it is, where did u get the lights, do u think they're an impovement on conventional lighting systems we use, why did u disengage the air flow system?

I know time's important, so I do appreciate your time in this matter.

cheers

rob

PS, again mate--bloody well done.

Cheers mate thanks for the nice words. Bit wasted but i'll try to keep this legible.

Imho vert lighting is the way to grow trees and if your using 1000w's they need to be cooled unless you run obscene a/c or grow in a nice cold place.

Benefits of growing this way are low plant numbers and not a lot of work once things are running basically lift the lights and top up the rezzy. Can get pretty impressive yeilds.

Negatitves would be it does take a bit to set-up it up and get runnin right. Water temp can be a major prob and there are more effecient ways of growing.

But it's shitloads of fun too hehe.

Those cool tubes i have made for me but they can also be bought online and at ebay. i've got a link somewhere i'll whack up tomorrow if ya need. i also had 400's vert in that grow and they were not cooled but a/c was good. That was also a grow i set-up for someone, we don;t hang out no more, and they've gone on to grow some pretty mad bud i see their postin here as 420Student. Check out that gallery for huge bud.

Having said that you dont need vert lighting and a combantion would prolly be best or at least work as well. I use hooded for veg and then go all vert for flower but many combo's are possible and depends on your room size and bucket layout. I'm a bit rooted atm cuz i've got too many seedlings and a 1000w in the middle of the room is really best for 4/6 plants.

anyways a novel of a reply hope it helped.

peace
