Roots in 3 days with my $0 bubble cloner

Recommended Posts

Well Gaz wanted me to post a pic. So I though I might as well make it an educational pic.

I was at a friends place and he was cleaning out some rubbish. I saw he was throwing away an air pump so I grabbed it to se if I could fix it. Opened it up and had it going in 2 mins flat. He had just bought a kick ass resun 8 outlet so I asked him if I could have it. He was nice enough to give me some tube and an air curtain as well. When I got home I couldn’t wait to make a bubble cloner, which I had been thinking about ever since I saw the air pump getting chucked out.

So here we have my kick ass bubble cloner that get roots in 3 days! Total cost: $0.00 !!!!! lol

Well I think admins should allow unlimited file space for images for all users. Then you would all see the other pix that I tried to post.

It’s just a 2ltr coke bottle. Aquarium air pump with tube & air curtain inside. The clones just sit in the top of the bottle.

I’m thinking of that Honda add on TV rite now. Isn’t it nice when things just work.... lol

This is how you do it. Get an aquarium air pump like this one and an air curtain like this one and stick the air curtain in a bottle just like one of these and wallah. You have a bubble cloner.

Fill the bottle with plane old tap water and turn the pump on. Stick some cuttings in the top with the stem 1 –2 inches in the water and in a few day roots will appear.

Best cloning method around IMO

The basic idea is to suspend the clones in bubbling water with the stems submersed an inch or two deep. Simple as that, anyone can do it :P

hey there mac sounds like sounds like u mc gyvered yourself something pretty good there you would have to use clones with pretty long stems though wouldn't ya? would this same idea work in a jar bigger opening and smaller so that you could use smaller cuttings?

and also do you still need to use clone liquid???

:P lol

I used to watch macgyver all the time when I was growing up. This one top all his inventions lol

Long stem or short stems doesn’t really matter. As long as some of the stem is in the water. If the stem was sitting just above the water with the bubbles popping and wetting the stem that is fine as well although that would be classed as an aero cloner.

Any sort of container that holds water will be fine. A jar, bottle anything really. As long as you have a way of suspending the cutting the possibilities are endless.

That’s the best thing about this style of cloning stoney79, no cloning gels or powders are needed. Throw away all that stuff mate. All that’s needed is water and bubbles. Any time you buy any of that stuff your just paying off someone else’s mortgage. You get roots faster this way without spending money on things that aren’t necessary.
