Watering schedule.

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Have a few babies growin in a mix of expanded clay/rockwool.

Have switched em out of my cloning setup 4 days ago and theylook shit. There is a bit of new growth but nothing spectacular however all new growth is pale yellow and scangy lookin. Even the old growth is a bit lifeless and droopy, not pale green though.

I have a 1000w light in room 1200mm x 3400mm. Grow area is 1200 x 1200

Nutes are 2 part sensi grow on drip fees. I have just been feeding them when i felt they needed it for about 10-15mins, runs off pretty quickly. I have checked the PH and it seems o.k at 5.8.

Picked up a thermometer and my room was 36degrees under the lights. Have added another exractor fan and another cool air intake. I already had a roof vent and just a room fan in the room. I also increased the light height by 20cm to around 1200mm above plants.

Temp is now down to 31 - 32deg and doesnt seem so intense. Gee them 100 watters throw out the heat dont they?

Any ideas on why they are going so badly, Dont look like there gonna die but will take a few years at this rate.

its just not enough nutes mate up the dose a little... if they got roots they will take a full strength mix at around 1600ppm.

Clay balls tend to drain heaps.... and holds little moisture, but with the rock wool should be ok, I would be feeding for 30mins every 2-3 hours while the light is on...... that should be ok... your ph is fine and your room seems to be fine.... the yellowing is just not enough nutes....

clones will sometimes shed the leaves and look fucked up.. probably because youve gone from flouros to the 1000watter... the new growth will be strong and healthy

the most important thing i found when moving your 'hardened' off clones from the crib to the grow room is dont water them too much.

i use rockwool slabs which hold more water than a clab ball/rockwool mix. as an example i used to feed the slabs for 15 mins every 3 hrs when they were first moved into the G-room. they used to take a couple of weeks to get going. i experimented and worked out that if i fed them 1lt every 6 hours then after a week increse that to 1lt every 3 hours they kicked along much better. by not feeding them too much they put down roots quicker. i start the nutes at 700ppm for the first week then increase it by about 200ppm every 3 days working up to 1.8EC.

i wouldnt use these times/volumes for your system though as clay balls need more frequent irrigation.

ambient temps around low 30's are ok. ive had ambient temps at 35degrees and there fine. just dont over water. and gradually increase ur nutes.

u can also use rhizotonic i hear to kick them along. i dont as its too expensive if u have a big rez to fill.
