Cannabis cultivation charge after raid

A 69-year-old man has been charged with cultivating cannabis after a raid on a Sydney home.

 

Police searched a house on Belmore Road, Riverwood, in Sydney's southwest, yesterday following an anonymous tip off.

 

Officers seized 160 cannabis plants, with a street value of $320,000, from a home they say was modified to grow hydroponic cannabis.

 

The man, facing charges of cultivating and possessing a prohibited plant, will appear in Sutherland Local Court today.

Older fella too, probably doing it for a bit extra to add to his pension. Hope he comes out of it all ok, but with with 160 plants worth 320 grand i'd say he'll be having a pretty hard time of it. Poor guy

kinda feel sorry for the old fella but 160 plants is a bloody good effort imagine the smell through the house come bud time i recon da neighbors would have been stoned just from the smell ha ha ha

Yeh i know out in the country alot of old farmers partake in growing and i can understand why when farming can be so tough with droughts , poor prices at markets weather and all the other things that can go wrong , i think its really fucked that someone can dob anyone in let alone and old guy , these people need to be hunted down and shot in my book .

how they come to say that the crop was worth 320K is beyond me. This is the misconception they lay out for other people.. Us growers know, indoors... plants dont grow a pound each, and if they did, there would be no way to fit so many in a house..... the most any one can flower in a house no matter how great the setup would only be around 20 pound.... which falls way short of 320K.

If the house was set up for cultivation then they would have a perpetual grow room... a mother room for clones, a veg room and a flower room. this is how they would have had so many plants...

 

they changed the laws for indoor grow opps... but they still have the mentality to think that we get a pound per plant....... which is fine for outdoors when they have the season to grow... .. Indoors, the law should be changed to the size of grow room not how many plants are in there.....

 

any grower knows that crop wasnt worth that much.. not even for a whole years growing....thats 100 pounds a year... pretty far fetched, must of been a fucking huge house..... with a million$ set up... which is doubt ful...

 

man I hope I dont get raided and they find my White Heaven and Red Devil cross I am doing. that little plant has about 300 seeds on it...., thats potentially worth over a million dollars...in street value....
