Silica Rocks

Heyas

For some time I've been using silica rocks for my plants as opposed to a liquid additive. A lot of you guys, even the regulars havent heard of this. Did a google on the brand name i buy (maidenwell) and found out its from QLD.

Dunno where u eastern state guys can get it from locally, but in the meantime check out ;

I use a single 2-7mm bag for 4x 50 lt pots as a 1:1:2 ratio with clay balls and perlite.

Incidentally, it cost $22 and the website says that the rocks should be good for a years worth of use.

Says that a 20-50% mix is best with other medium, which is about right cause I'm at 25% and its a sweet spot.

Benefit of the rocks over liquid silica is that this has a stable ph and is always there for the plant to take up 'as required'... at least thats the theory, but ive used silica for 18 months before and it really does make a spectacular difference...

Lemme know if you guys try it out and your results!
