ballast

Recommended Posts

Also, is there any where else to purchase a ballast from? eg normal light shop or hardware store?

Ta

If your worried about visiting a hydro shop, dont be, just dont go running away at the mouth assuming that they know what your buying stuff for.

Hydro shops need your business and know not to ask "What are ya growing" or any other embarassing questions.

If your a "person of interest" to the local authorities, buy out of town and park your ride away from the shop. lol

You can get HPS lights and ballasts from electrical wholesalers. You wouldn't bother tho as it would be more suss that going to a hydro shop.

The normal lighting shop no doubt could order in whatever ballast you like as well - but that would be even more suss than the wholesaler.

Best of luck, get a spare if you can afford it too lol

Always get ceramic mogals and globes im unsure about phillips are good but get one less grow out compared to luca or lucra/lush.

You had better ask if the bulb is included with a balast. It's obious that you need a light bulb to grow with - HPS son-t's a popular bulb that will do all you veging and flowering (all stages). Where you buy your balast from should have the bulbs if they don't sell a complet opperational light.lol

a few things i ask/look for when buying a new control box from a shop i havent been to

#1 ask if it runs silent the last thing u want is a hummer they really annoy the shit out of u when working in the GR

#2 make sure it has a internal or external fuse fitted if u cant see it ask

#3 rubber feet these help alot to keep any unwanted vibrations down

#4 sus out the vents i have bought cheap control boxes with lack of ventilation the boxes run way hotter than a better design

#5 make sure u get a recipte or purchase date printed on the control box i have only seen very high quality boxes with the date stamped

also another good thing to look at if u really want that is try looking inside of the control box thru the lents to see if the ballast is a well known brand name u would be supprised at how many cheap ballast are put in a good looking control box these shit ballast will be all black with no markings
