My clones are dying help!!

Recommended Posts

Hello I have never done clones successfully (did one it died) before so new to this part of growing, I have cut a nice peice from the female plant. dipped it in clonex stuck it in a small container of soil and perlite watered it, gave it a bit of Thrive fert and put it under light and the whole thing has turned yellow the tips of the leaves are dying.. It was nice and green when I picked it 2 days ago..

What could I be doing wrong..

to get a good sucess rate with cuttings, you really need to have them in a warm, humid environment under weak lights like fluros....

the way i do mine is under 2x 18w cool white fluros in one of those mini green house things which sits on a heat mat set at around 30 degrees...the get a misting a few times a day for the first week and by then they usually have started making roots so i only give them a misting once a day and open up a vent every 2 days to get them used to the lower humidity of my grow room :smoke

gave it a bit of Thrive fert
The fertiliser is the most likely cause of your problems, especially if the soil also contains some fertiliser, I start my clones in rockwool cubes or plain perlite. You also need to use PH correct water and it would pay to trim the the fingers of the larger leaves to around half their present size.

no ferts yet...... theres no roots....clones will need to be folier fed for the first 10 or so days....I am afraid that baby is gone.... it might come back, but I highly doubt it...... R.I.P. little fella :D

heres a link to my cloning method. There are a few different ways.....this is mine, and it works well...for me....

ok oinks thanks, looks like when you dont use ferts but too much root booster like rizotonic .

thrive is an ok nute use it all the time on tomatos but they like twice what you would feed yandi, thrive has alot of urea in it maby not the best nute for indoor use, was it liquid or powder. would expected to see burning but maby it just does not suit.

It does pay to get a good nute from the start root boosters are good when used ontop of nutes. Also had you have burned her you would more than likely seen somesort of salt build up in/on perlite and atleast algee. But you can do it with one crazy feed i guess.

Power, looks like your going to be better starting again look for cuts there are lot easier to get started and garenteed fem perfect for a one plant grow..
