hey all my friend has just moved out of home. we have grown a successfull outdoor crop togther last year and have a outdoor crop in this year(10 nice females). we both want to start growing some hydro plants all year round and i have been doing a bit of reading up for him on the net and shit and think i sort of got a rough idea but am not that confident to go out and buy all the shit we need and then it wont work. i have made up a plan of our system it wont be excaly like this one but i want to sort of base it on this plan i drew up in paint if you can find anything wrong can you please point it out. i also have a fair few questions i think you more experianced growers might be able to answer for me. well here goes

1 how many airstones will i need in say in a 30 liter bucket just the one? 2 can i run more than one airstone of one air pump? 3 do i have to fuck around with a resivour and a float vavle or what ever you guys use? can i just put a refill lid on the bucket so i dont have to pull the roots out of the bucked and get a clear buckets and paint or cover them up then leave a clear strip down the side to check my water/nute levels and just keep it covered with some duct tape or somthing and just check it every few days? any expert advise would be much appreciated cheers lol ps sorry if this dosent make much sense as i am a compelte noob when it comes to hydro

so you have some experience in growing outside and you want to move it indoors. The set up really depends on the amount of money ya got and what type of yeild you are after on each crop.

there a hundreds of ways to grow successfully and heaps of different types of setups.... as you probably already know.

Do you wish to grow from clone or seed... will you need to take clones?....

the most efficient way is to have 3 seperate operations going, a mother room, to take clones, a clone/veg room and a flower room.... as I said how much do you want to spend?.... my first trip to the hydro shop cost me $4500.....things are slightly cheaper now... and I got a lot crap I didnt really need.... rookie....

you can get away with just a wardrobe, ultiamtely big enough to fit a clone section too.. like one with side draws or a seperate sect. up top...

if you got access to clones and you don thave to take them then just build a room for veg/flower.... and work on the cloning shit later....

a 600 or a 1000 HPS (good for allround growing) watter would be a good start, and I think a recirculating hydro system is the most efficient to run and the easiest.....any medium is good, perlite, clay or versarock..I would steer clear of rockwooland coco fibre, how ever for an outdoor grower it might be an option... very similar,, I think..

buts its really a personal choice, have you got a hydro shop near by. Always good to get in there and see how each system works... not every system is suited to MJ....dont beat around the bush ask questions...tell the guy you are growing roses..... he will understand.. hes most probably doing the same thing... yeah..lol roses.....

hey thanks for the advice yeah i know all about cloning i have a mate who has a 1000 wat hps and just grows in soil but i want big yeild and prime buds if you know what i mean i would be willing to spend up to probably 400 to 500$ on a set up not including the light and shit but surely its not that hard to make your own system i have seen a few on here and have done some research but there are a few thing im not quite sure about

sorry i 4got to mention i got a hydro shop 10 minutes from my house they sell books and bongs and heaps of shit for weed the guy there is a dodgy fella i think he used to grow it himself he knew what my mate was up to he bought his 1000watter from there and gave him some good advice i might go down there soon and have a chat to him about a setup suited for me and my mate and space is not an issue its going to be in a garden shed

if you are growing in a garden shed then temps might be an issue.. i would just use the spare room if the house if you have one.. a hell lof a lot easier to controll temps..but if ya canyt ya cant...

odour might be a problem too and also noise.... how close are the neighbours? also light leaks have to be seen to aswell..... so good ventilation is a must.... like extraction fans with carbon filters or ozone might be better for a shed grow... 500$ might not be enough.... a good 9pot system with everything, perlight hose pumps and airators can cost about $400... then you will need vetilation on top of that..another $300 or so....

check the hydro guy out....and see what he has... they usually do great deals for cash.. and you dont really need a reciept

also... airpumps and water pumps can be bought at pet shops probably cheaper???
