TEMP & WATER - couple of quick questions

Recommended Posts

Hi all

3 quick questions lol:):)

What are some methods that I can use to keep my nutrient tank cool?

I want it to be on 21c all the time.

Does the water from the nutrient tank and the water from the bubbler buckets (in my case 1 bucket) get rotated around?

Or does all the water in the tank just get sucked through the connecting lines to the bubblers when the level drops?

How do I get the plant growing in the clayballs and the roots established enough but without planting any rockcubes etc in the clay?

hi in summer it can be a challenge to keep the water temps at 21degrees.

firstly you can take your reservoir out of the grow room. this would be the best option. but i dont have that luxury. so i have covered the top of mine with panda plastic (to reflect heat from lights) also i have the outlet of one of my intake fans blowing at the reservoir (ie cool air). also try and use the biggest reservoir you can (more water volume stays cooler). i have 200lt black rectangular reservoirs. you get them from bunnings for $50.

I can't go that big, maximum size I want is 80L per tank and even then that's big.

I was reading through the forums and I found a post where Luke Skywalker suggested putting 2L coke bottles of frozen water in the tank.

Sounds like it would work to me and I dont think you would have to put new bottles in too often if you put say four 2L coke bottles in at a time and then just have more ready.

There are still many more questions un-answered! :) lol
