growing along the ground

Recommended Posts

allrite..

now ive heard of growing along the ground by tying up your plants etc, which i plan to do this year because i totally farked up last years grow..

i want to grow a plant along the ground & when its around 8ft long.. i want to bend the main stem in the middle of the plant towards the ground & put a little nick in it & cover it with dirt.. as ive heard it can start to grow roots from there..

the bigger the root system, the bigger the plant can grow because it can uptake more stuff right ? stuff being nutrients & water & whatnot..

so if i was to have a plant with 2 root systems, wouldnt that be twice as good as one ? :scratchin

oh, and i plan to start the clones off early may under a 400w in a cupboard, and grow them untill its time to put them outside, reducing the light cycle slowly obviously before they go outside..

peace

this is a cool technique and can be done with the bottom laterals... with out even harming the main the main plant. It is assentially a form a cloning. can be done when the plant is about 1-2foot tall....

when you do this bend the lateral down, and the internode closer too the ground needs to be stripped off, this where the roots will form. Also treat this section with some rootex powder... can be done in small pots, and when the roots have formed can be cut and replanted else where..... or replanted right where it was done, for one hell of a monsta plant :thumbsup

hey..

i drew a cool pic showing what i mean entirely..

my mate has 8ft plants this year and thats allready minus a 2ft crownie that would of now been hanging over the fence if he didnt cut it..

next year i hope to out do him, by having plants out at 4ft before he even starts to germinate his..

i plan to grow them under a 400w in my cupboard, i was thinking of starting early JUNE, and id deffinatly use clones, as everyone says they grow faster..

since the 2 root systems, will the plant focus more attention on growing the roots then the plant ?

i dont plan on using any clones of this plant, or using the 2nd root system in any way to take clones, i just want to have bigger better buds, cause if im correct, the bigger/more roots a plant has, the faster/bigger it grows, as do the buds..

peace

hey WDC,

my current grow, which was ment to be veg under 400w & flower outdoors, except i was 2 months behind in the end so i ended up just growing in hydro

its about day 20 into flower now, nice buds starting to form, i was left with 1 of each strain, white skunk, skunk 1 & marleys collie, i had to do alot of tying down as i didnt judge for the stretch in flower, they shot up so quick

took 1 clone a while back and just potted it along another plant in there, and they bloody grow alot quicker then from seed.. B)
