How high should I grow my Plant's?

Recommended Posts

Starting my first grow soon, was going to grow 15 plant's 5 foot high under 3 x 600watt HPS's. Would I get a better yield if I grew 30 plants 3 foot high?. What I'm thinking is that there is no point growing them 5-6 foot if the light isn't going to penertrate to the lower buds. So am I better off growing twice as many half as high to expose more bud to light?.

Flower them at or before they are 1/3 of the height between the media and the light so as to allow for the flowering stretch, I don't go for a long veg with my plants as it costs heaps more in power, I find it better to just stick in a couple more plants and increase my yield that way.

your 600 HPS will only really penertrate about 12-14 inches... so any taler and your just waisting time...and money as Tom said...

however if you wish to double crop, or second pick then you can grow them out a bit higher.. but I try never to let them get any taller that 2-3 foot at the end of flowering.. so flower when a bout 10-12 inches

also kinking down helps the plant to grow out rather than up.... :;):
