Compressed? drying in baggies

On my first grow when i didnt know anything about anything i ended up drying my buds in plastic sappos. This was a naive attempt to accelerate the drying process as I wanted a smoke sooner.

So,

I semi dried the normal looking buds in a cupboard for a week/ ten days or so and then seperated the semi dried manicured buds into small sappos and squashed them into them bottom of the bag then basically vaccum sealed the bag simply by squishing the air out.

I then placed the bags in direct sun for about 1/2 to one hour and then removed the buds ( very high moisture content in bag after this ) and left them in a bowl in the direct sun turning them every ten or so minutes. I did this for about one hour and then placed them back into their sappos and squished them up tight and left them in the sun again for about 1/2 to one hour (got all moist again after being dried in open air).

Again after this i removed them and left them in a bowl in the sun ( behind glass windows) turning them again for about one hour.

After this i placed them all into new fresh sappos squished them and left them in my draw in the dark with the bags unsealed for about another week.

 

The result was the buds turned into kind of dried and dusty rock like buds. Very much like that dirty brown compressed bud that was abundant about eight or ten years ago.

It smoked like holy hell and all my mates were blown away.

 

Anyone have experience making "compressed"?

 

I completely fluked this but would very much like to achieve the same result and thought that you guys may have better even more effective techniques.

Its sounds like your lucky not have gotten mould all through ya buds , if i was to compress bud id dry it thoroughly and then put it in say a metal tube and use a vice like impliment to drive down the tube etc Ive had mould set in after a day or 2 in a plastic bag ive even seen it on buds outdoors in moist conditions i think your lucky if you didnt get mould .

Yeah sasq i remember doing that on my first crop... and it was top smoko, dont remember why i did it like that :scratchin

but now, 20yrs later i realise that the wildly potent smoke had nothing to do with the way i dried/cured it

in fact if i didnt do all that fuckin around with the dope it would have been an even better smoke

trust me, if you just dry it in a dark, ventilated wardrobe you will have even better more potent dope

Yeah, i realise i got lucky with no mould, must have been the very close attention i paid them. thinking about it i probably took them out of their bags every day and drooled over them, ha ha

 

And i was just thinking of compressing some buds, not all, to have variety

I am guessing when you say it smoked like holy hell and all your mates were blown away, the smoke put ya on ya ass right.....real body stone????

drying bud in direct sunlight will break down the thc leaving a more cbn, which gives you a heavier stone... no exactly better.....as is my understanding

Thats is what I have tought. But you seemed to have gotten away with it. the ultimate test is you smoking it.

U know ... Thats exactly what I tought of while reading his first post. . hehehe

 

Well , I don't like my buds to be crispy dry , But they have to be dry ... ... ahem ...

Given my situation now , Its harp with my temps and humidity and space to dry my budz slowly (Takes maybe a week) so I gotta be careful ...

This year I was doin some trimming when the budz were about 50% dry and lined some up in an Oz bag that I was gonna leave open in my cupboard , the budz were to fat for the bag Imo , so I decided to sit It under a few books to compress It slightly so It was snug in the bag ... well I got real stoned and forgot about It until about a week later , thought ... shit! mould! , but checked and there was none , just A nice bag of tight flat Budz.

They're not the best smoko in the world , but they get you smashed and are nicely cured ...

I wish I accidently did It with My tasty stuff.
