3x3 meter room and only 2 x 1000watters may not be enough. you will need 4 in that. in a sqaure pattern. 2 x 600's no way!!! rule of thumb for 1000's is 4x4ft and 600's is 3x3ft. i have compared 1000's to 600's in identical setups and PROVIDED you have adequate ventilation to keep heat down the 1000's are better (but im talking in purely YIELD terms and using 1000's HPS).

Nath, i tryed posting a reply but the site was very slow for some reason by saying 3x3 i ment meters i ran a 1000w HPS euro in a 3.5mx4.5m room temps were abit sketchy in summer in your room u could run two 600's but keep in mind this will only cover 4'x4' each lamp a light move will work good but it will only give u an extra 2' coverage as thats all u will need the question is, is it worth it? also u might wanna run 1 600w untill u get a good exhaust set up

just remember 2x1000 watters in a 3x3m room without a A/C u will be able to cook an egg

Ah ok thanks for the advice... Ive never worked with 1kW lighting ever.. and I know the 600's are way hotter than the 400's for sure.. I have some 45cm pedestal fans for the first couple weeks. They will do the job in veg, they are surprising good for air movement, and make minimal noise on high. Im using all my money to get into this apartment in just over two weeks from now (Tuesday fortnight), and this is basically my plan:

 

2 weeks: 2x 48w and a few 20w CF's VEG 24/0

2 weeks: 600w HPS VEG 24/0 (Have to get it posted over from Sydney)

Flower 1200w HPS 12/12 - 7 Weeks (Buy another 600w Kit)

Flower 1200w HPS 11/13 - 3/4 Days

3 Days harvest and dry the plants (I will have to move them for the day or just quick dry them in the room in racks with a heater)

 

Also im only going to end up with a few clones to work with, not sure yet but hopefully by the time comes ill have just under 10 or so... Im probably better using one 600 and a rail? 7 Days after I plan to flower, I get $500 so that will go to a proper carbon filter and centrifugal blower. Dont want to skimp on odour control at all.

Well, its going to cost too much to section the room off, this is a budget grow... but I wont be budget on the medium (Large pots of coco), lighting 600w HPS', Nutes (All Canna and quality <EXPENSIVE> stuff .. and care, of course.

 

So I was thinking... even if the plants around the edges of the optimal lighting area are getting Some light, then that is extra yield.. who cares if its stringy buds, they can be the ones that get distributed to my friends at parties for smoke.

have u worked out ur inspections? this can be a big pain in the ass as most rental's require 3 monthly inspections if u think 600w is alot hotter than the 400w ur in for a huge shock when u feel the 1000w standing 2m away u feel the intense light and heat beaming on you they are good lamps but very hard to keep under control any good grower will tell u they produce to much heat as for your plan it sounds good but u wont wanna dry using the heater u need a slow drying process for the first 5 days so any white hairs turn red as the buds dry as for sectioning the room off dont u have a spare couple of $ to buy a tarpolen from bunnings? ok plastic maybe not the best idea or go buy a couple of bed sheets king size sow them together? yes im dodgy but hey if it works who complaining? :thumbsup i have used a few different brand nutrient but canna knocked me on my ass best ive ever used

Yea Canna is definately the best ive ever used, by a long shot. People say nutes make no difference but thats BS. Also, with inspections (90 day lease) 21 days veg, 63 days flower.. something like that.. That gives me just under a week to clean up all the stuff and a day or so to set it up.

 

The night before the inspection ill take down the fan/blower/cutup door and then seal the pot into bags, move it out of there, get an inspection and move it back in. Ill probably end up quick drying so it doesnt matter much. But yea, everythings planned around inspections.

 

Edit: i was thinking originally to do 4 weeks veg, 8 weeks flower... but I might run into problems when it comes to harvesting and inspection. Probably will do 3 1/2 weeks veg.. then at the end of the flower turn my lights down to 11/13, then maybe 10/14 a few days before harvest if they arent ready yet.

 

Also, Ill probably get emergency mylar blankets to line the walls.

sounds like u have everything under control u do know the smell will stay in the house for a few days right? (indoor garden and pot smell) just play it safe dude as ur landlord lives in the buildings aswell? they will see u come and go leading up to the inspection

Yea i got a good mate to help me trim all the bud and get it out of there... Im planning on having enough cash after the end of this grow to get into a house, and I wont be using the rental apartment as a reference at all. So it doesnt matter toooo much if he smells somethings, Ill have the walls and everything sprayed and cleaned down with sugar soap and bleach. And Ill remove the carpet when I first go in there too and scrub the floors and get everything nice and clean and hopefully pest free.

 

Ive tried to plan every little element of this grow so far. Do you think 6-8 clones would be enough for 2x 600w's in that area... I might even buy some seeds if I cant get more clones to do a 12/12 grow with, or something.. ..

i would say get ur security down pat before u worry about your plants after all u can grow for many years to come but u only get one chance at being busted

Only thing with security would be when the plants start flowering.. everything else will be secure enough imo. I was planning on vegging 4 weeks, then flowering 7 days, buying a proper fan and blower with the cash i get then, then flowering another 7 weeks or so.

 

Maybe I should just make a carbon filter for under $100 or so, and buy a 250mm inline fan for $170? I could probably afford to do that before I flowered, and then when I flower add a rail, or another light or something...

 

I just want to get this grow out, because its been 14 weeks now with no pot whatsoever, and im back on medication from my psychiatrist, and the meds are terrible and I want to self medicate with mj. I could give it an extra two weeks of waiting and then move in, but that means Ill have to keep clones at my old mans place for three weeks, instead of one. He will probably see them overgrowing at that time.
