lighting in my 2 setups?

Recommended Posts

Hello all and here goes it 4 my 1st post.

I am setting up a grow which will have two areas set up.

I have 1 area about 1.5m wide by 1.2m deep and around 1.2m high. This area i was going to try and use for my seedlings/early veg stage.

Have another room around 1.2m by 1.2m by around 2m high whcih was gonna be my flowering setup.

I was intending to put a 600w son-t in the flowering room but needed a few suggestions as to the lighting in my veg room.

Going off the dimensions besides lighting any other suggestions would be appreciated.

At one stage i was thinking of using a nice bank of rotating cool spectrum 5000k fluoros in my veg room, then transfering them to the 600 for flowering.

Once again any suggestions/comments are appreciated.

430w Son-t for veg.. might make ur plants a bit stretchier compared to a 400w MH, but they will veg alot faster. There wont be much heat issues if you keep that space well ventilated. Otherwise, if you want to go with fluoros, just use 4x 48w Compact fluoros. You can buy the Nelson brand CF's at Bunnings for $24 each and a few dollars for a holder and cord. If you are a perfectionist and dont mind the slower growth, I suggest the 400w Metal Halide though.

Yeah Ta dazed, good advice i think.

I looked at those nelson globes at Bunnings yesterday and thought that if i could jam 4-6 of them in there (mix of cool and natural, no warm ) it may do the trick.

You reckon i could also keep my mothers in here as well?

Problem is i didnt want it to be toooo slow. I reckon i can flower 4 at a time so was gonna try and bring them on in the other room and get a quicker turnaround. I will start the next lot a week or so into the flowering of the first batch.

fluros wont do much for you in a 1.5x1.2m area go with a 400w MH as u want vigrous growth before going into the flowering area but u need to work out how many plants and how big u might need to adjust this room size to fit ur needs your spot on with the 600w in the 1.2x1.2 area :thumbsup

i have grown and flowered with the 130w fluros and in ur veg area u wouldnt be happy u would need probably 4-6 lamps costing $55 each plus shades etc... go with the 400w MH better growth and cheaper
