Man faces court after drugs tip-off

Recommended Posts

A MAN has been bailed on drugs charges after police say they found about 200 cannabis plants in bushland at Mt Nebo on Sunday.

The man, John Allan Keong, 30, of Esk, appeared in custody in the Brisbane Magistrate's Court yesterday charged with eight offences including production, supply and possession of a dangerous drug.

Police said an anonymous tip-off led them to an area of state forest at Mt Nebo where they found up to 200 cannabis plants ranging in size from saplings to 2m-tall trees.

The plantation had an estimated street value of $375,000 and it appeared some of the forest trees had been cleared to make way for the plants.

Police opposed Keong's release, saying he had tried to flee the scene when spotted by police on New Year's Day.

But defence counsel Peter Delibaltas argued Keong had been drinking at a pub with another man who asked to use his 4WD to dump wastewater.

That person managed to evade police and Mr Delibaltas said it was that person who owned the water tank and pump found on the back of Keong's vehicle.

Keong was granted bail on the condition he live with his ill father and not leave home between 8pm and 6am each day.

He is due to reappear in court next month.

Yeah, I hate it how the Queensland Police refer to marijuana as a "dangerous drug". Do people on the government payroll really believe their own hype? Of course! It's the only way they can live with their conscience for enforcing these discriminatory drug laws. They have to believe their "protecting the community" from a "danger". Ha-ha-ha. ;) Der. ;) Thanks law enforcement!!! Phew!

I've been using pot heavily (on and off) for 16 years now and am still waiting for this so-called "danger" to arrive. The main thing I worry about are chemical residues etc that might be inadvertently deposited on the plant by amateur growers everywhere. But there's nothing I can do about that because of PROHIBITION. Other than that I haven't noticed any danger. I believe pot to be safe. (Yes, completely safe, to those who say "well pot is a drug too and has its dangers… blah blah blah.")

So, anyway who's this prohibitionist "concerned citizen" who just had to tip off the police? Aww, poor prohibitionist wants to remain anonymous. Has to hide behind the police, again!

There is something you can do about it, grow your own. ;)

Yeah, I'm workin' on that too! I had to learn a lot of stuff the hard way and killed off two good strains I'd gotten a hold of. Mainly had problems with scarid fly in the Brisbane region. I now avoid coco media of any kind. I've gotten a few seeds from Nimbin and they're okay but I'm now intrigued by this overseas online option. But I'm worried about the latter because of the "high-tech" organic matter scanners in Customs, if they do exist? But I would love a good Dutch strain. Of course I suppose I risk arrest any time I use or buy pot; I just don't want to put my head in the lions mouth, you know?
