Yeah that is what those type are made for, running in ducting.

 

But running through homemade carbon filter? Homemade filters dont seem to block much airflow.. not as much as the shop ones do. Last grow we were using a 300mm carbon filter i think it was 1m long and it seems really restrictive. But there was a decent blower on it.. and two inline fans feeding into Y piping into the blower.. so there was adaquate venting..
