White spots & ladybugs

Recommended Posts

My 2nd outdoor (dunny) crop is proceeding well but, just like last year, I find little white spots on my leaves (I think perhaps something very small on the undeside eating throo'). I grow pyrethrum in the room and occasionally spray with a tea made from this but to little avail. I have heard that ladybugs can do a fine job of removing insect pests - does anyone know where to buy or how to attract ladybugs ? Edited by Gruntus

hey,

Sounds like spidermites. The preditory mites (lady bugs) are available thru most gardening stores. About 30-50$ for a container of thousands.. arent the greatest unless its a long grow or perpetual room and they need time to establish..

When spraying the leaves etc try to soak the underside as thats where they live and breed... they repoduce every 4 days so you have to keep it up for a while to beat them with pyrethrum...

I've enver seen anything wipe out spider mite like "avid"

mite spray. Holland forge distribute it, so most hydro shops should have it. You spray it twice 3 days apart and bang...no more of those horrible little bastards.

It has a withholding period of one week before harvest.

Cost about 15 bucks a bottle and one bottle will last a lifetime(well for me anyway). For indoor closet growers-

cut the foot off a pair of pantyhose and slip it over your vents, intake ans exhaust. Fly wire is too large a hole.

Just don't let your girl know it was you who cut up her

stockings...and don't use fishnets
