Drug raid uncovers south-west cannabis crops

Police have discovered 86 cannabis plants growing in bushland near Preston Beach in south-west Western Australia.

 

The plants were found by police in six different locations, with some measuring up to 190 centimetres tall.

 

The value of the crops is estimated at $180,000.

 

Inquiries into who planted the crops are continuing.

 

The large drug seizure is the second in a matter of weeks in the area, with Boddington police recently pulling up 246 opium poppy plants.

 

Hope this wasnt from one of our OS growers ... one of the advantages of a bush grow i guess .... if they were careful then pretty hard to be caught :mellow:

can get that for a single outdoor plant, with some good strains you can get 2 pounds of primo buds which will get you double that

They probably figure an average kind of yield, then break it into sticks and figure their price from there... which is how they arrive at their inflated prices.

my understanding is the NSW police just say $2500 per plant, no matter how mature/big, they value a seedling the same as a ready-to-harvest mature one

How does this continue to happen? Does this not get challenged in court? Can we not get a decent documentary done on a home grow (say 5 plants) and go through the facts; how much comes from an average indoor plant, explain about males, how long it takes, what is really worth to purchase etc, Wouldn't one of these jumped up media shows jump at the chance to flaunt the law by filming a MJ grow? Make sure you have a water tight contract drawn up and signed prior to filming, stating what can and can't be shown and said or edited, hidden face etc.

Andrew Katelaris tells me he once took a big bushy plant on the Willesee (spelling?) show and their lawyers freaked out and didn't want the pot in the background during the interview. So it went ahead with the old cliched bookcase in the background.
