I see people talking about how they paid so much for this and that and it makes me laugh. One guy I was talking to told me how he paid $400 for this clone machine and he still couldn’t get good clones. Then he spun some shit about how he spent twice that much for a DWC set-up. At first I laughed to myself but then I just felt sorry for him. More dollars than sense.

 

A few weeks back I was reading a thread here from Tom about how to build a grow room. I have to say it was pretty ghetto, but that’s what I liked about it. So I thought I would start my own thread about ghetto set-ups.

 

I was looking at a plant I grew and thought I better take a clone. So I chopped it and stuck it in a jiffy peat puck and in 7 days I had roots and stuck it in a pot filled with coco. After looking at it for some time and pondering I thought to hell with all this bull shit coco & peat & pots & rooting hormones etc etc. I decided to build myself a bubble cloner.

 

First thing you need for a bubble cloner is bubbles. So off to ebay I went and I scored an air pump. To my surprise it arrived the next day. Talk about service. Well I had bubbles but that was about it. So I foraged around and found just what I needed to complete my set-up.

 

Now it is a bubble cloner but I am just using it as a bubble cloner/DWC bucket for the moment. I like to call it my Multi purpose ghetto cloner/DWC machine. I didn’t have a clone so I grabbed the one I had taken earlier and pulled it out of the pot and ripped all the coco & peat off along with most of the roots.

 

Here are a few pics. One of the mum and a before and after shot of the roots. Bubbles work fast! You don’t need a bunch of fancy shit to grow dope mate. Here is a rundown of the costs and materials.

 

1 ice cream container. $0

1 milk bottle lid. $0

Water $0

1 clone $0

Air pump, hose & air stone $15

Delivered to my door. Didn’t even have to get off my ass.

 

When she is too big for the DWC machine she will be moved to my ghetto buckets. Stay tuned.

 

I wonder what sort of ghetto projects everyone else has going. Fell free to post all your ghetto set-ups & ideas

But I just got home with a cheap container with lid and a new plastic bin (lid to). Geez the lid looks dodgey, I doubt it will support a net pot I gotta get an airstone tomorrow and pump then try it all out.

Bubble cloner good one! I got some in water this time, might add bubbles too.

Good stuff mate. Can’t wait to see how your ghetto bubbler works out.

Here is a tip. Forget the net pot n rocks. Go mediumless like this:

damn thats a nice setup you have done and so cheaply too :reallyexcited:

 

my grows have all been ghetto so far, wardrobes with the backs cut out and pushed into a corner, 2nd hand lights, re-used mediums, old nutes, etc....have spent about $600 in total, pulled about 8oz so far, would have been well over a pound if i wasnt ripped :thumbdown

Hey WC, thanks for stopping by. I am the same. All second hand lights etc. People like us on the rock n roll know how to make a buck go a bit further. And for the people who don’t this is where they can learn. Don’t worry about the ripped stuff mate. Its in the past and cant be changed. Im sure you will make up for it.

 

A lot of first timers are afraid of hydro. I know I used to be. But hopefully this thread can show everyone how cheap and easy it can be.

nice mate .. i wanna try a cloner like yours .. excellent .. already have a small airpump and airstone .... any idea what that orange coloured centerpiece is ... in the bucket photos ?

you forgot the D in WDC but i'll forgive ya so true that people like us know how to make a buck go the extra distance, shame we look poor in the process

 

im over being ripped, i have moved to a better area, im growing more strains, more plants and am doing my best to make up for it here is my proof, i have 5 strains on the left in coco/perlite that are my mother plants and their daughters im gonna grow next crop and on the right are 8 other strains i have just started up from seed that will be grown with those daughters next crop

Sorry about that DWC... i mean WDC. Your line up looks good. I know you have some good strains there. You should do very well this grow
