Eight charged in $1m cannabis bust

EIGHT people have been charged over the cultivation and supply of more than $1 million worth of cannabis on the NSW north coast.

 

The charges follow a three-month investigation and included police raids on houses in Banora Point and Tweed Heads.

 

Investigators said they uncovered cannabis plants and leaf matter with an estimated street value in excess of $1 million, and hydroponic equipment.

 

Several charges, including supplying, cultivating and possessing cannabis, have been laid against five men and three women, ranging in age from 25 to 58, police said.

 

They included a 25-year-old Banora Point man, charged with the supply, cultivation and possession of cannabis, and theft of electricity.

 

His 32-year-old partner was also charged with knowingly taking part in the cultivation of cannabis and theft of electricity.

 

Both have been granted conditional bail and will appear in Tweed Heads Local Court on November 7.

 

A 58-year-old Banora Point man was also charged with the supply, cultivation and possession of cannabis, and theft of electricity.

 

He will appear in Tweed Heads Local Court on December 5.

some people are so fucked in the head, they think that running a few lights will make their electricity bill cost so much it will land them in hot water so they decide to steal the power instead

 

seriously, you can retrofit a house with 30amp sockets so you can literally turn your whole house into a grow room and while the electrician that is fitting the stuff might think its highly suspect, the electricity company wont give a flying fuck what you do as long as you pay for what you use but if you steal from them, they'll do everything in their power to stop you and teach you a goddamn lesson you wont forget :thumbdown

 

i swear that the only reason people get busted these days are loose lips and stealing power which is easy enough to take care of...just dont tell anyone you are growing, not even friends or family (except us here at ozstoners ofcourse ) and dont be afraid of power bills, just pay them and dont think twice
