clone is wilting

Recommended Posts

Hope the clone has perked up Gazza ! I've done many clones and don't see the reason to keep the light on 24/7. Sure there may be many people and info that suggest using a 24/7 light cycle for clones but I have found that 18 hrs on/6hrs off produces exceptional cloning results for me. Think about it-for billions of years on planet earth the sun rises and sets everyday. This is the natural cycle that all plants have taken on planet earth (ok maybe with the exception of Antartica in certain seasons). So by going to 18 hours with your clones then at least its compatible with the vegetative growth stage and you wont have the plants use to 24/7 than suddenly go to something less. It probably doesn't really matter if they do root under 24/7 light, but if you use 18hrs than theres less chance of the plant having to go through a 'adjustment' period. Clones are delicate and they probably require a 'rest' period more so than a established plant.

When I have clones I mist them with Canna Rhizotonic or Superthrive. This misting of the clones is done up to 5 times a day when lights are on. I have found this dramatically increases the % of rooted clones.

You might want to consider switching to a gel based rooting base instead. I've read somewhere that in a gel based product you get more penetration than powder. I think if you use a gel based product it will increases the % of rooted clones as opposed to the powder based products-all the best with the clones :thumbsup

ok ive attached a picture of my clone she is coming back but not 100% yet i hope it makes a full recover

nitram, what should the lumens be for perfect cloning?

sydneyguy, i believe in 18/6 i have never grown in 24/7 before so its a first for me the reason i am using 24/7 for this clone is i sold all my gear to a few lucky OS about a year ago the heated pad went with the rest of the gear so i try to keep the dome warm by leaving the light on

EDIT: picture removed
