$500,000 in cannabis seized

Fairfield Police yesterday seized cannabis plants worth more than $500,000 and arrested two people during simultaneous raids on homes in Sydney’s southwest yesterday.

 

Officers investigating the supply of illegal drugs, raided homes on Lalich Avenue and Montgomery Road at Bonnyrigg Heights and one on New Liverpool Road at Mt Pritchard.

 

They allegedly discovered two of the homes had extensive hydroponics equipment and 264 cannabis plants in various stages of maturity.

 

A woman aged 52 and a man aged 48 were arrested and charged with the cultivation of a commercial quantity of an illegal drug.

 

Both will appear at Fairfield Local Court later today.

every day nearly .... wild shit ... wish they always said what the fuck up was ... I'd dearly love to know how these people get caught .... is it possible they are so crazy to grow hundreds of plants AND steal electricity or allow light/smell to escape ?

 

Tom is there any way of keeping track of cases like this ? I guess they become public trials but I have no idea where to look for such info ... any suggestions?

Hey Mush, I reckon the mistakes made by the people that get busted are:

 

1. Sloppy setup, eg: noise, odour, light

 

2. Stealing electricity, all it takes is a curious meter reader.

 

3. Selling

 

4. Biggest and worst mistake, TRUSTING ANOTHER HUMAN BEING.

 

The first rule of fight club is , never talk about fight club (some wise words there)

Ay .. sux but its true ... only my lawyer and my brother know i am growing .. told em for different reasons ... no worry I think on my bro(now isnt that a terrible thing to admit) but if he gets drunk .. which he does .. I worry he might tell his wife (both huge smokers) and that would be bad news .... nice goil, but a mouth on legs ... so at the end of this grow I'm gonna anounce that da fear has got meh ... and never again etc..

 

only told him in the first place thru my lack of confidence/ability to maintain the grow while I was away .. twice .. for 3-4 days .. my alternative was learn how to work my light timers and I also worried the rez would get too low .. when in fact it can be left with 50ltrs for about 4-5 days - anyway, my one fear is down to having confided in another human .. albeit my own brother

 

I agree dsy, I got all the other bases completely locked down and will never again run the risk of being kicked out of da 'grow-club' by revealing its existance .. i loved that movie .. messy but good

I dont have any problems with the first 3 and as for number 4, my wife is the only other living person that knows.

 

They seem to have valued each plant at around $2000

whats the pennalty for two plants in NSW?

 

if you get raided, your equipment and plants will be taken as well as a free ride down to the cop shop....after the treating you like a common criminal is over, they'll send you home with a fine and if your real unlucky, they'll force you to go into a drug treatment program :thumbdown in WA, if the plants are outdoors, they give you the option of either punishment and something like 90% of the people are taking the fines

 

basically, slap on the wrists and a criminal record saying you grew 2 plants :thumbdown

wise words there brother :thumbsup the only people that now know of my systems existance is the people that live with me, i trust 1 of them, the other is a motor mouth schitzo (literally) and tells her life story to every passer by in the street but she knows better than to talk about my grow, she would risk getting robbed and fingers ambutated
