Ok people - I have a grow in 12/12

HERE

I am asking people who have used PK13/14 how they have used it and specifically if they have used it in Coco medium for there opinion and advice on it's use.

From the lable:

"PK12/14 is a dynamic mineral flowering enhancer from Holland"

It goes on to say it is a 'additive' and is used in addition to f;pweroimg mutrients during the flowering stage. contents is high in Phospherous (P2O5 13%) and Potassium (K2O 14%). It influences metabolism of the plant.

When to use

"Add once, 3 -4 weeks before harvest to a full nutrient tank. Use for 1 week only". Now this is the point where I diverge from it stated use. I have made the assumption that in Holland they are refering to a "tank" and this to me indicateas that they are talking NFT/hydro which is predominantly a 'style' of growing in Holland.

I am not strictly growing hydro, but heard that Coco is an inert medium void of any nutrients & I should treat it as though growing hydro. I have my plants in 100% Coco, 7"x7" x 9"deep square pots and under 12/12 using a 400w HPS light (Sylvania Bulb - "supergro").

Dosage of PK13/14

1-2 ml per Lt of water.

I am using 3ml per Lt of water approximately.

In terms of EC & PH the changes are negligable (rise of 0.4mS/cm2)

Your comments on the following useage in my grow is sourght:

Use PK 13/14 in PH'ed water (5.8- 6.2 range). Note: no nutrients mixed with the PK. first water with PK, allow 1 -2 days untill next water is nealy due then followed by COGr - Flores (EC=18 & PH = 6.2). This is repeated for 1 week, or longer depending if dry enough. this repersents 4 water/feeding sheduals (2 with PK in PH adjusted water & the next 2 with my flowering nutes only).

I just don't want to overwater.

1) So peeps what do you think of this plan ?

2) If you have used PK13/14 before can you give me an idea

of how you have usd it?

3) What's your interpritation of "use only once for 1 week" & " tank" ?

4) When making up my PK + water what PH wioulwd you recommend?

5) What do you think of usng PK13/14 seperate from my flowering nutes?

My Post to my Grow

Thanks people.

yep good plan nit ....... :scratchin

but why miss ? i'd give it every watering probably for 8 days to round it up , that would be 4 feeds yea ?

2 ..... used it once at week 5 ....... used 90 mil in 60 litres . tank .

3... tank would be hydro res ........ water changed weekly so run shit for that week .

4..... ph in coco ? i'd be guessing mate ......

5 ......... waste of time just mix with every watering .

hope that helps a bit . :P

...everest.5..... waste of time just mix with every watering .
:P

I will do everast as on my visit to my plants I spotted 2 - 3 lower leaves on 2 diffent plants which raised my eye-brows. Browned edges and progressing from the outer edges towards the midle of the leaf. Dark brown to black with a flaky, crispy & dryish dead look. It's a bit early to get 'natural' lower leaf expultion & never suffered this problem in past grows. Learining is not going to cost me this magic grow. the budage is too big and fat without PK. I will sill use it but in tandom with my nutes once recovery is complete. Things could get worse.

I might just lay off the watering too. Funny :P I thought I was doing an extra water and that the plant were drinking alot. All the pots felt light so I gave it the PK13/14 less the nutes, just PH'ed water. I followed a day later with a nute feed although only 1/2 what I normally give them (500ml). While I know that an increase in drinking was usual at later stages of flowering ......... I know something is up.

I'm certain it is the begoninnings of nute burn, abait @ an very early stage (2-3 leaves). Thank "Gunjagod's" forgiving when it comes to compost/Coco mediums and unlike hydro when things go wrong they happen so quickly.

I'll tone down my experimentation and 'panic' (thinking of getting to make up a res of PH'ed water to flush at 1143 pm is silly

I am the sort of person who is always 'tweeking something in my grows. :P I shall decease all overzielious experiments hence forth on this grow - I just cant help myself - I must know all, seek ant find out everything   ;)

I will re-assess tomorrow night & hope she drys out a bloody lot. Problem is himidity outside is 77% and will be difficult in the room with approximately the same situation. I could always take them outside (won't go into how much trouble, more of an inconvieience this would be - lets just say the room is upstairs and will mean 4 tripa + upstairs & downstair into the backyard. :D). It would also mean a change in light cycles and I deem this to risky in terms of stress at his stage

I might remove the leaf tomorrow morning early - take a pic as an good example of nute burn and/or over & watering (which is often the inseparable).

Thanks for the reply everest.............not too many peeps interested in this topic.... a few views but not many with the balls to comment I feel.

Larer 'e' :smoke

When i burn plants with nutes it always shows up at the current latest growing tips/leaves, not at the bottom.

these pictured leaves are probably the oldest leaves on the plant....yes?

those leaves dont get much light, and are prone to nutrient and water spills

if so that is nothing to worry about .

IMO

BTW whats the point of replying when everest has already given a full and correct answer.

Frazzle thanks for a quick reply

Frazzle .........these pictured leaves are probably the oldest leaves on the plant....yes?

It's sort of bottom to mid leaf folage area. You could be right as my GR is pretty crowded with 8 fowering plants undr 1 x 400w HPS light @ height of 3'. I focus on the colas and have trimmed the lower branches away early in veg/

Venalation is another issue for me ........... I do't have any . :P ... I get by though. :scratchin

those leaves dont get much light....[very true]..., and are prone to nutrient and water spills

No on the "water spill" though. I'm very careful and water, perhaps too much water on this occasion with PK.thanks again Frazzle M8.

This is one of 2-3 plants which has affected leaf)s). The leaves (now 1 or 3 leaves on each plant) is affected is so minor & is located mid plant which is apprpx @ 3' tall.

The loss of light is not on some of the mid leaves. Canopy pennitration is good.

The progression is not happening fast enouugh to be noticable.

However, If it is a result of using PK with PH'd (pH @ 6.2) water closly followed by a full flowering feed (no PK). I feel that along with the experimental 15ml (ignoring the lable stated 1-2 ml per 1 Lt) so dose is 1 ml above recommended dosage. I think I have my 'cause' ('minor nutrient OD').

In this case the lable dosage should be adheed to strictly. :P

I think it is a pot hanging above a bucket full on nutes with the roots all growing through the holes or neting or someting.......told yoa I don't know

How close was I ?

so thanks for that research nit
No worries should have been predictable tbh................I'm going to do another water with PK but with my COGr - Floreas EC 16-18 (17) + down the dose of PK to that on the lables.

Love tweeking is fun :thumbsup

The coco is starting to Dey out lucky for me :P

yeah that leaf is nute burn - i know because first time used pk 13/14 added 2ml per litre to nutes and over nxt 3 days had many leaves looking like that!

i changed to adding 1 ml per litre every week from week 3 to end. no nute burn and many are doing it like this now.

i actually switched from canna pk 13/14 to the nulife one which is ph balanced and doesnt much with the ph as much. probably same shit though. i know someone else who just gets the massive 20kg sacks of pk from commercial hydro farms. made in israel and 4 times as strong as the retail stuff. and works just as well.

main thing is that becareful stuff burns. i always suggest use at half suggested strenght first and always add before nutes.
