I'm sure that a lot of you guys will disagree with this, but I think that sniffer dogs are good. I also think that all other drugs should be illegal, and we should crack down on it's import.

 

Because I smoke pot, doesn't mean that I condone the use of all other drugs. I feel that users shouldn't be imprisoned, but I feel that traffickers of drugs such as heroin, coke, acid, ecstasy, etc. should be arrested.

 

People think smoking pot is like using all other drugs because a lot of pot smokers use the legalize pot argument into legalize all drugs, and I for one disagree. I feel that pot should be legal for medical and recreational use because it stands apart from drugs such as crack, smack, ice, X, K, and all the others. I am a believer in the history of the plant, not the right of the person to be able to get anything that they want, even if it is dangerous.

 

Well, I said that a lot of you guys will disagree, but that's my 2 cents, and I think that sniffer dogs are a good thing, and I welcome it. Pot grows everywhere, meaning that you can get it everywhere. I've been all over the world, and never had a need to take any with me, I just find it where I'm going.

I dont condone all drugs either, cause I've seen some good friends get frazzled by some really bad chemicals, but weed grows naturally, no man made intervention required (aside from tlc ; to give love, thy gets love!)..

And I agree with a previous poster, drug dogs should be re-trained and re-assigned to search for explosive.... anyone who says that australia gets its cannabis from overseas is probably smoking some shit we'd all love to get our hands on.....naw man, most cannabis comes from South Australia (BIGUP!!)

Hi,

I was searched (sniffer doged) at townhall station on my way home from a holiday in thailand (bloody airport link) and was made to stand on the main concourse whilst all of my dirty laundry and other personal belongings were spread out on the ground and my suitcases were searched as the dog was repetedly run over my stuff. The dog indicated that i was in possesion of drugs 3 times, however i wasn't. I still have enough grey matter to realise that bringing weed home from overseas is really dumb ! I did mention that i had just come from overseas and that in all probability a team of beagles had already done this, but got no reply, just a sideways glance. The whole search lasted 30 minutes and then the copper in charge said "musta been a false indication, ok you can go" and left me there to re-pack all my stuff!

The dogs might be usefull in a high heroin trafficking area, but seriously how many high level drug dealers catch public transport ? Even in a heroin area they are only gonna catch users and very low level dealers, or more likely runners, so whats the point?

Agreed that The sniffy dogs have their place , especially with guns and explosives ...

Some may think they are also good for busting big hauls of more "commercial" drugs , cocaine , heroin , exctasy etc ...

I say people want to take these drugs so ... what then ... Things need to change , but change seems unlikely anytime soon , if ever ...

Anyway , Dogs on the streets , trains , music concerts , pubs etc. to me is a terrible invasion of privacy ...

But then so is being able to be harassed and searched just for "looking suspect" (I.e. anyone who looks different from the "norm") ...

But having such a minute hit-rate with sniffer dogs (only 0.19% of searches have caught anyone who "May Be Considered" to be a dealer) is definately cause to scrap their public program ...

But we all know how ignorant these halfwit morons runnin shit can be ...

if you think someone is a cop DONT OPEN THE DOOR TO THEM . TALK THRU THE GLASS dont open a window.. even if they say they have a warrant. Get them to show you this first thru the window... if they dont have one what ever you do dont open anything , this is beause as soon as you open something they can say they smelled drugs or anything.. then they can invoke a seach under the drugs act... just rember its not that easy to get one dont let them fool you into it...this is the case here in nz i would say its the same in aust..

 

all you have to do is give them your name plus address , then you can just walk away but first to say am i under arrest if they say no walk...

and the other thing is if a cop as come to talk to you about something you have done . DONT say anything just say "i have the right to remain silent" , that one fucks them off..

9 times out of 10 you convict yourself by talking to them .... i have used this all the time and trust me it works and it will all so make it harder for them to convict you with something..and makes your lawers job easyer at court..

whats the wrose they can do lock you up for a night , thats nothing ... what counts is at the end of day you walk with nothing and that will fuck them off more..
