Roots in Noots

Recommended Posts

I dream about aero Mush! Too difficult in my present circumstances but i can't wait to try it again. Starting with aero will give you a great education and there is no right or wrong way anyway. I love DWC it's a lot of fun but i might try super bubblers (big dwc) or Krusty Bucktets next. Wish I had more time and space to do em all! good luck m8

 Thanks Chato - sorry you're somewhere you can't get stuff easily .. but the DWC sems to work just as fast and dude ... those roots you develop  which leads me to a question ... can you point me at a post that breaks down what you need to have ...

I just searched for air pumps for example and didnt have any luck (other than fish tank type things) - from what I read, the bigger your pumping capacity, the better the result - however noise is the only factor for me (my smell prob looks like its sorted) - I wanna try and keep the noise level of my room no higher than it already is ... so could you recommend a pump/airstone/bubble maker system or post I can read? I'd love to see what would grow in a 100 ltr bucket with 2.5 meters of height and lotsa side space :reallyexcited:

I have nearly 3 meters of ceiling height and I would much rather be growing a few big ones ... rather than dozens of crowded small ones .. too hard to tend and too risky too.

ANy suggestions greatfully accepted :/

So you want to grow trees huh? Cool! I reckon it's the way to go but noise and air pumps go hand in hand. My locale isn;t great for supplies but stealth is not a factor here so it's a good trade off for me and my noisy pumps. It's sorta true the bigger pump the better but that depends on how many buckets it's running. Small air pumps are ideal for a few buckets just buy a few different types of airstones and see which gives you the finest smallest bubbles.. For a super bubbler you'd probably need a bigger pump or maybe 2 smallies but you can box em in too reduce noise and you'd need to duct air into the box and watch out for heat. Find you some links l8r but look up the early posts of cobaltrod on Overgrow. The threads are full of ?'s and expeiments, some of the crazy shit that dude was trying awesome. He was a total newbie and now he's badass. hope that helps

You don't want your pumps too big, because if the bubbling is too violent you can actually cause root damage. When sizing your pump 2000cc per bucket is fine, you could probably double that before you started to get on the too high side. Krusty buckets are a different story they need a higher pressure because the point is not so much to bubble the water but to spray it up into the rootzone. I wouldn't use krusty buckets unless you want to grow huge plants (over 6 feet tall). They're not worth the effort otherwise and they don't have the low head height advantage of a standard bubbler system.
