A WEST Australian Government official is one of two men charged with drug offences following a joint operation between WA's corruption watchdog and South Australian police.

WA's Corruption and Crime Commission (CCC) said a WA Department of Agriculture officer based near the SA border, was arrested and charged with the possession of more than 1kg of cannabis.

CCC operations director Nick Anticich said the man was in custody ahead of a court appearance in Ceduna, about 450km on the SA side of the border, later today.

He has also been suspended by his employer, Mr Anticich said.

Following the search of a farm 5km north of Ceduna, a 46-year-old Ceduna man was arrested by SA police and charged with producing cannabis.

He is due to face court on a date to be fixed.

During the search police allegedly found cannabis, equipment for producing the drug and cash.
