Want to Know how Much it Will Cost to Run??...

Just to give anyone who cares an idea of how much it will cost you to run an indoor set-up…

I just got our electric bill, it went up $220ish more than usual. (S.E. QLD)

I’ve been running 600w @12/12

40w fan @24/7

and cheap bathroom fan for exhaust running @ 24/7

 

But what I got for that $$…

 

8oz smokeable bud

20oz+ leaf/ cooking buds

up by $220?? ;O im in qld and run both a 400 hps and a 600 hps and mine usually isnt that high.

Yea, that sounds like to much increase for what you are running...

 

 

600W is not that bad. I would have thought about half that increase would be more like it.

remember there is a big difference in power cost during the day compared to night.....Just curious, if this is your first grow, then who's is the purple bud I voted for on the cannaporn thing?

Here is an easy way to work it out....my electricity costs 14c/kw and off-peak costs 5c/kw, they have the price/kw on the bill.

 

So here goes

 

1000w costs $100/month at 24/7

Therefore 1000w on 12/12 would cost $50/month

 

A 600w would cost $60/month at 24/7

or $30/month at 12/12

 

Off-peak cost is 5/14 of that...1000w at 24/7 would be 5/14 of $100 or $35.71

 

Got the idea?........

 

3000w would cost $300/month at 24/7 and $150/month at 12/12

 

 

Easy to work out consumption of accessories too.......

give ur electricity company a call they dont tell u everything offpeak is only for the hot water system domestic is any other power u use wether its day or night the price doesnt change (Integral Energy)

right on gazz.....

You have a Jtarrif meter(offpeak) and a Mtarrif meter(onpeak.. or what ever)

the Jtarrif is purely for your hot water service, some houses have heat bank heaters which work on Jtarrif too.

ALL other power, lights included are on the Mtarrif.. this is the same cost what ever part of the day... theres that misconception that running lights at night is cheaper.. it is NOT... its just usually cooler at night....

 

with your power hike... $220 doesnt seem that bad considering you grew about a pound of choof.. 8 ounces of choice and 10 ounces of undergrowth.... I would be considering that a pretty good success... you should be getting about a pound of choice from your 600watter...of course that depends on strain and grow style... but when ya think that it works out to about $30 an oz... I reckon thats pretty damn good..
