When to flower (12/12) for max yield?

Recommended Posts

I use one of them "Aquamiser" things to start my seedlings and clones. I only use 180w of fluros and the growth rate is pretty impressive. I would compare it to a 400w with less then optimal conditions (my first grow)

I start my seedling in the 1 inch grow wool, then when roots show through i put the 1 inch cubes into 4 inch cubes, when roots show through the 4 inch cubes i put them in the Aquamiser. Its all hand watering, mainly with b-thrive and maybe some nutes and takes about 2-3 weeks

Then I fill the little pots that come with the Aquamiser with perlite, don't push the perlite in just pour it in. Fill the pot to about an inch from the top. Then I jam the 4 inch cubes down into the pots so the bottom of the grow wool is on top of the perlite. From there I just make sure there is water in the res. and its all good for a few days at least. (wash the perlite first)

The last 4 clones i pulled out of there had been in the pots for 6 weeks (clones from a grow somewhere else, that went back after the mothers finished). They were very root bound but not showing any real adverse effects.

Ah I just figured out who Animal is, Or should I say used to be.

Mate I hear what your saying but your wrong so Sush. Flowering a seeded plant prior to it being mature will not effect its potency it is the genetic that do this.

However it will massivly lower the yeild.

I assume you mean flowering a plant from seed, not flowering a seeded plant... anyway you are stating this as a fact whereas I'm stating an opinion. I suppose facts take precedence over opinions, that is if they can be proved to be facts. So I'm interested, how do you know this is a fact?

uh yeah sure. I've seen posts from you saying you can't grow DWC and you decrease watering in flower. And thats just from casual reading over the last few weeks, god knows what else I'd find if I looked. So forgive me if I don't put my faith in your experience.

BTW, what kind of a grower are you to have so much experience in flowering sexually immature seedlings? Sounds a bit sus to me...

hey animal.i agree pretty much with all you stated.i just dont agree with the potency being affected.genetics mate.i know this from experiance.though i do agree that when alternating nodes appear is best.i have grown a few strains from seed and if i waited for alternating nodes i would of run out of room before flower.poor growing conditions is the only way potency will be affected and early harvest and that is fact mate.alternating nodes is the plant setting its self for flower but indoors we play god and they are not a must to wait for.

Growing can be very basic but seeing as though we are dealing with a living organism and almost unlimited variables in how it can be grown there are very few absolutes, especially with something as subjective as potency. Mate some growers even notice difference in potency from different batches of clones. Even Dutch Flowers tell their customers that some strains don't come to their full potential until the third generation of clones.

And aside from the misconception that because you observed something it must be true for all strains, you haven't even offered the details of how you arrived at your "fact". So you've flowered some seedlings early and harvested some good smoke, big deal we've all done that, it doesn't mean anything unless you compare it to a fully vegged out crop grown in the same conditions.
