I used to use that foil to line my grow rooms, I got better results from painting it with flat white ceiling paint.

Not really concerned with light reflection from the 130w cf because even at that wattage for a cf there isn't enough light to warrant providing reflection at over 600mm distance, and tha light is generally so close to the plants no light escapes out through the foliage anyway.

 

But concerning white over foil, I have a very accurate light meter and the reflection of white compared with silver is almost identical. The main benefit with white is you don't get hotspots

In that situation I use the foil with a 2mm backing of foam insulation and it really does stop burning of foliage due to contact with the foil, and its the same price as mylar.
