Cannabis use damages teen brains

With a name like raverspec, I feel obligated to jump into the other drugs debate. If you give me a pill, I can tell you what is in it. If you give me a taste/sniff of coke I can get the purity to 5%. I have tried nearly everything known to mankind except smack and very few select others.

 

The only things I have these days are a few pills when I go out clubbing and some herb.

 

Most of the pills on the streets that I get are either MDMA, MDxA or MDA. About 40% I would reckon are true MDMA, and the strongest cleanest ones I have had recently were Red Playstations.

 

That doesn't mean there isn't a lot of shit out there sold as ecstasy.

 

There is regular, quality supply of Ecstasy to Australia - that is a fact. It is dodgy Lebanese dealers peddling speed pills and all that other shit to kids with no contacts who wouldn't know speed from acid who wind up in the back of Ambo's and flat on their backs dead. That, and the DRUG ADDICTS in the RAVE SCENE who have NO PLACE. I know heaps of meth heads who go clubbing, but I don't think of them as raver's - they are fuckwit meth heads.

 

I do worry about what it does to the developing brain, but I only started even smoking really, let alone chemicals, until my very late teens, so I don't know how lucky I will be.

 

In terms of risk mitigation, me and my friends only go out on the pills once every 1-3 months (month minimum, 3 month max.) to let our heads recover.

 

I'm interested in this 5-HTP stuff, anyone have good info?

What do you reacon to the thoery that cannabis doesnt cause mental health issues it only enhances problems within a person that may previously have been dormant? thats my thoery anyway. If someone who is prone to mental health problems smokes cannabis cannabis will act as a catylist.

personally I'd say that it is more than likely true - makes sense to me anyway - I've always joked about how much more I'd get done if I didn't smoke ... but I get away with that, becoz I do do a lot ::

What do you reacon to the thoery that cannabis doesnt cause mental health issues it only enhances problems within a person that may previously have been dormant?

I've always agreed with this.......I mean, if smoking pot causes mental illness, wouldn't everyone you or I know that smoked be schizo? And I know heaps of ppl who have smoked long term, like 25-30 years. I'd say some of them are quirky But no-one I know who smokes suffers from much more than depression.
