this is a very decieving pic, you cant see the 400hps above or the ventilation fan on the > wall, I was in a hurry when I had to take the pics.

the cfls are drapped over the hps reflector ino the depths of the box.

Oh and ignore that little fan you can see B) its there from a dry run test its for "under canopy" SCROG air movement.

DWC and ScroG don't work together all that well, it can be difficult to lift the lid to check the reservoir when all the plants ar woven into the screen, the screen would have to be attached to the lid of the reservoir and not the walls of the GR.

:peace:

I have to completely disagree with this. DWC and scrog work perfectly together and are widely used together as they are one of the most effective ways to grow in low height setups. In fact, in micro cabinet grows with a 150 or 250 HPS a dwc (or swc) scrog is pretty much the only way to go.

A control bucket or a drainage tap in your plant tub will easily address the problems Tom is talking about.

I haven't spotted any micro grows on this site yet. But they are certainly all over overgrow. DWC and scrog are a perfect match, especially if you are using small lights in small places.

Tds meter arrived to day,

tds meter I got

it only ended up costing me $30 postage included and took 1 day to get here,..... I payed for it direct debit, the guy made a mistake when he emailed me the info, The price should have been $40.00, he waved the $10.

I therefore highly recommend this mob as a source for TDS meters.

I've had a problem with temperature in the box last few days, the guys in the "propagation forum have helped me out with that problem (thanks guys)

Looks like 1 baby wont make it, but thats no big issue.

Last lot of clones died prolly the cold, Ive fixed the cold.

But hey just got given some rooted clones

bubbler turned back on again..........

Rooted clones are in 1 inch rockwool cubes, they are in expanded clay pots,..... I notice that the moisture migrates a fair way up the pot.

Should the base of the bottom of the rockwool be in the nut's or just above?

Im running 400w hps with the light about 3 ft away, been under hps for 3 days, should I start to lower it ?

ppm 500, temp 32c, ph 6+/-

The rockwool should not be touching the water. The water level should be about level with the bottom of the net pot but you can keep it higher until the roots grow down. Top watering for the first week or so may be required.

If the plants look good yes I would be gradually lowering the light.

You might need to think about doing something more about your ventilation. It is only going to get warmer so if you are at 32degress now you may get into trouble by the time you are flowering... The best grow rooms are cool grow rooms. Not only do the plants grow better but it makes pest infestations less likely. About 25 degrees is the ideal temp.

Thanks animal ;)

I checked last night, the rockwool is not in the water, but "wow" the nutes travel up the clay rocks more than I thought :P

I lowered the lights a few inches last night , plants handled it fine for 24 hrs , I lowered a bit more today.....the hand temp test is more than acceptable.

Im getting good growth from plant 1, new set of leaves each day for the last 2 days, yah !!

Its starting to actualy grow !

Plant 2 is a bit dark green for my liking, and not, at the moment showing any growth, but ...hey plant 1 is doing fine :) :)

PH is holding at 6

ppm dropped to 439 from 500 since yesterday.....( wow, they must be growing )

res temp is prolly a bit too high at 23c Im about to work on that tonight.

Ventilation ( as per animals concern )

atm I got a large comp fan sucking air out,

night time temps drop down to 3c - 6c atm and I have timed lights to be on at night

Im taking temps in the afternoon an hour after lights are on , so maybe room temp is not acurate for the majority of the time. But Im not getting out of bed at 2 in the morning to check :(.

I am planning on getting a ducted fan system with a diy carbon scrubber happening once I get all this stuff worked out and the plants get bigger .

here be some pics ( If I can work out how to post em ) no lights on, just the camera flash...
