  1. I think it should be pointed out that The Don (Langdon Brown) is not the only one out there profiting from the sick whilst claiming compassion. The Hemp Embassy, The Wellness Clinic, Church of Ubuntu and there are many others whose oil prices are similar to and in some cases higher than The Dons prices. IMO anyone profiting under the banner of compassion should all be named and shamed. I'll be backing those who give their cannabis away or charge a small nominal charge to cover costs if it's under the banner of compassion, not the profiteers and scammers. MongyMan

  2. I was trying to keep my nose out of this thread, but here is how things ACTUALLY work for people that make and donate medical oil. You get a group of people and growers who have genuine, non profit motive to supply people with medical cannabis oil that are suffering. These people you see every day, they work next to you, serve you at counters, mow your lawns... they are everybody. They work normal jobs, pay taxes and follow every other law in this country except this one. They take a portion of their legal, tax paid wages and pool it together as a collective to pay for a site to grow. They pay for the capitol, the equipment, the electricity and all consumables with legitimate tax paid income. They all share the workload and donate their time to growing and oil extraction and it is passed on to be given to across the country to those in need. There is no illegitimate, illegal money or profit made from the production. Every dollar paid for the production is from hard earned work of a normal paying job. These people donate their time and money to give something to those in need for 100% free. There are no exceptions, this is strictly non profit. The problem the government has with people like this is that financial motive has been removed from the equation, and this makes somebody very dangerous when they cannot be bought, seduced or corrupted by money. This is what cannabis oil is all about. Making your life about something more. Hollywood movies mock the notion that "One person can change the world" by showing heroes that are beyond our capabilities. This makes us feel like "Im just one person, what can I possibly do?" One plant has the power to save a life. Save one persons life out of compassion and you will realize YOU DO have an amazing power. Combined as growers, one plant each, we can save the lives of thousands. Dont underestimate yourself, you are so powerful and you dont even realize it Rose.

  3. Well Joan, I personally think you are telling jolly big furphies... but if you have $500-600 a week to drop on the Don's oil - go for it, but I'd like it if you stop pontificating about how you are happy to pay... most of Australia doesn't have that sort of money to blow on a product of dubious effect.

  6. Looks like another medical cannabis scam is making the rounds on Facebook... aka SCAMMER ALERT “Don Medicinal Cannabis” is changing his spots and has begun to specialize in "Medical Cannabis Seeds". DO NOT trust Don Medicinal Cannabis nor Aussie Medicinal Seed Co... as they appear to be one in the same person/company. "the Don" has a reputation (on Facebook) for inferior products and not delivering what he promises (taking money and not sending products), he is in the medical canna business for money, zero compassion in his business plan. If by chance these two 'companies' are not both being run by "the Don", then Aussie Medicinal Seed Co is steeling photos, and that is crap/un-ethical business practice. The post by Aussie Medicinal Seed Co has been taken down already, got to love a screen grab (however crappy it may be)! Be smart peoples! just a few extra screen grabs to prove my point

  7. My son has malignant nerve sheath tumors which there are many active with one going malignant. His condition is (was) described as terminal with metastasis to the pelvic area, neck and base of his skull, both legs and chest area He has had radio therapy and supplements including RSO and CBD over the last 4 months. The main tumor has been smashed with metastasis gone. All the other tumors have stopped progressing. (these weren't radioed) and during the whole episode he needed no anti nausea medication, only 3 pain killers after a big operation to remove another malignant tumor from the same area which took the femoral nerve with it. No nerve pain ...no inflammation or infections etc. He recovered so fast the medical profession are curious on what we have been doing so we told them everything which just generated blank face expressions except from one nurse who was really supportive of us behind the others backs. In short we won this battle and now its time to win the war. The objective is to continue to stop the rest of the tumors growing and hopefully shrink them. A long term protocol is what I am trying to work out for him now It seems that the RSO and CBD along with other supplements are making a difference which has improved his quality of life through this time. 8. Hi All, So on the advice of others I've used some of my find to make tincture or green dragon. Now, I had a look around and found a few recipes. Some say cook it, others say don't. Some say use coffee filters, others say don't. Some say leave it to steep for 3-4 weeks, some say heat it. Well I need this quickly, so I took a bit of all the info I found and did this. I took 1 oz of head and using a coffee grinder made it a powder. I placed it on a foil lined baking tray and cooked it at 130C for 15min in the oven. This process releases the right cannabanoids for the alcohol to absorb I sterlized some jars with boiling hot water(notice the spoon in each jar, according to the wife this stops the jars shattering with the hot water) Then dried them in the WARM oven I distributed the baked pot into two jars. I could have used one jar but wanted the entire mix under the level of the water in my saucepan (see below) Taking one cup of OP rum (57.7% alcohol or 115 proof) I covered the pot with the rum I heated a saucepan of water to about 40C then placed my jars in the water. Some say to use a wire rack at the bottom of the saucepan, but my wire rack was too big, so again on the Mrs' advise, I placed a tea towel in the bottom so the glass jars weren't drawing the heat directly from the base of the saucepan. Notice the level of the alcohol and pot mix is below the water level Now the alcohol evaporates at 75C. So using a candy thermometer I kept it below 75. The recommendations are 65-75C. I kept mine at 70ish for about 35-40 minutes. Then came the straining. One video I watched used coffee filters but when you go to squeeze them out they rip contaminating the product. So I went to the fabric shop and bought some muslin cloth or cheese cloth. And fitted it to the top of the final jar. DO NOT FORGET THE RUBBER BAND, unless you have two pair of hands as it makes one hell of a mess if the cloth comes free from the jar. DOH. Due to the fabric of the cloth you can squeeze the hell out of it and get the maximum out, Coffee fiters rip. After doing all of this, there was a little still in the cheese cloth so I squeezed it direct into my mouth. The taste ain't great but being rum it helps, but shit am I bent. I will be offline for a bit come Wednesday and I won't be able to smoke, until I get back home, but the mrs can bring me in daily doses of green/brown almost black dragon and I won't need any pharma from the Drs. Merl1n P.S. Next comes some hash oil (I hope)

  9. Haha very good point recipes for slaves are probably not much use and not a bad thing but salve recipe well [emoji23], it's actually very easy 2 cups of coconut oil which you can buy at the supermarket or health food store, it's actually more like the inside of a bounty chocolate bar but turns to liquid when heated , use a spoon to scrape approximately 2 cups into a saucepan and put on a low heat, just under a boil like a simmer. Add a Table spoon of vitamin E oil to the saucepan, I buy it online it's about $5 for 200ml Add 2 cups of dried relatively chopped up flower, I have found the better the strain as in the higher THC content the more effective the salve is mind you this could just be my imagination as all version I have made have been beneficial. I also decarboxylate my flower first before adding it to the saucepan as I make oil at the same time and it's just a habit I've gotten into. Let the coconut oil, vitamin E oil and herb simmer on a low heat so it's just under boiling for about 4 hours, some people do this for as long as 24 hours which I have also done but I feel the difference in the infusion is minimal and 4 hours is fine. Give the mix a good stir every so often. Be super carful to as the mixture drys fast when spilled and can make a bit of a mess if you not carful. After the mix has been heated for about 4 hours and the cannabis has had time to infuse with the coconut oil use some cheese cloth or I can't remember the other name you can get it from material shops and pour the mixture through it into a bowl or something similar to filter out the herb so you are left with just a liquid. It's very important to wear gloves while doing this as it is upper hot. Take another saucepan and add 3rd of a cup of beeswax which you can also get from a health food shop usually in little bits the size of mms or smarties and melt fairy easily over heat. Be cautious not to leave this over your stove for long as in take it off as soon as it is liquid as it can catch fire easily which I have also done. Pour the melted beeswax into the other mix and stir together I usually tip the bowl of oil into the saucepan of beeswax and heat for another 2 minutes or so. That's pretty much it, then you can pour into small containers, I use small plastic ones from the craft store, let it cool and your good to go. I have heard of people running the finished cooled hardened mix through a blender then packaging it for use as it provides a different texture but I don't do this as I like the way it comes out, it's kind of like softish soap would be the best way to describe it and it melts with the body heat of your fingers. With this recipe I get about 7 small tubs which last for ages. I have had beyond amazing results with this for my sons eczema and have also forwarded lots of it to friends and family with all kinds of skin issues who swear by it and I feel if you have those kinds of issues it's more than worth a go. My son no longer takes steroids for his skin. WIN Please fell free to ask for further info if required and I will do my best To explain as the above probably makes no sense [emoji1303][emoji1303][emoji1303] Sent from my iPhone using OZ Stoners mobile app

  10. It would be nice if they defined what they mean by 'gold-standard'. The lack of definition makes it hard for anyone to weigh up their claim and provide evidence to back up the argument that there are peer-reviewed scientific journal articles on whole Cannabis and that imo is the 'gold-standard'. It was very much under debate then and previous to that time. This is an intentionally misleading statement. I would argue that your organisation (due to the political motivations behind its creation and the associated affiliations) is in a unique position to have influence over the law. That this influence is not enshrined in legislation is irrelevant. In a biased, non-scientific fashion. This is due only to the laws in our country that prohibit the general public from utilising laboratories to test their Cannabis. This is of course at a detriment to the health of the public. I agree. There is a plethora of scientific research in the public domain that the NCPIC refuse to acknowledge because it does not agree with their dogma. Nailed it!

  11. actually I am quite qualified to speak in regards to scientific issues, including "chemistry" and 'compounding' - I have the education and experience to prove it... "the Don" has a finance background. I have used screen shots from the don's own Facebook page to back up my points I have met The Don, I was unimpressed, as were many people at the Tamworth symposium the Don did everything in his power to derail the symposium to meet his agenda (imo) this is all I need to know about how "the Don" produces his products, these shots are from HIS Facebook page what self-respecting 'chemist' produces products on the floor (answer is NONE). in medical settings, medications on the floor is a serious offence.

  12. He wouldn't be hard to track down at all. You already have his name and home town. The truth is there are hundreds of people out there in the same position as Dan Haslan desperate for help and access to cannabis oil before their cancers kill them. I have hundreds of emails from people asking for help on where they can legally obtain cannabis oil, all of which I cannot help or direct anyone else to due to the stupid arcane profit orientated cannabis laws we live under... How ridiculous it is that a plant like cannabis is illegal which regardless of what some ignorant people believe is full of goodness for us both externally and internally. The biggest tragedy in this story in my opinion is the fact that it had to affect their family and friends personally before adjusting their attitude towards cannabis, as I'm sure his father has raided and locked up plenty of cannabis growers some of which could well still be in gaol...

  13. I thought contributors to this part of OZStoners would be very interested in this inquiry. Here is a quote from NSW parliament media release: Click here to lodge your submission - before 15 Feb 2013! And if you haven't already, you can also complete our anonymous study of Australian cannabis growers. We will be using this information to make an official submission to the inquiry so this is another way you can have your voice heard.

  14. Hello to the OzStoners community - here's an introduction to the latest GDS 2014, which has a focus on cannabis this year. Drugs are a funny thing. Lots of people take them, lots of people talk about them – often not knowing much at all about what they are talking about. The media sometimes does a fantastic reporting on drug issues, other times it’s just not useful or accurate. Sometimes it’s just plain rubbish. Researchers do some interesting stuff but most of it‘s focused on the harm that drugs cause – not the pleasure they can bring to people’s lives. Global Drug Survey hopes to change that. Collaborating with over 20 media partners and host of researchers and harm reduction networks across the world, translated into 10 languages and running with hubs in 17 countries we are about to under take the biggest survey of everyday drug use (inducing alcohol, tobacco and of course prescription medication – they are drugs to!) that the world, has ever seen. From what would be the perfect cannabis and life after the Silk Road, to what happened when you’re caught with drugs or being drug-tested in work place; from nitrous oxide balloons and ecstasy pill testing to value for money and finding out what people do to keep themselves safe while high – this is going to be huge and relevant for people who use drugs, who drink, drop, get high, get low, gets scripts, grow their own or are just curious about the world around them. If you are interested in drugs help us get the best information out to everyone. Our results will be published exclusively with our global media partners in March and April 2014. Take part in Global Drug Survey 2014 at http://www.globaldrugsurvey.com/GDS2014 Everything is anonymous and confidential. (GDS is headed up by Dr Adam Winstock, email adam@globaldrugsurvey.com. The survey has ethics approval. N.B. I have had a role in designing parts of the survey!) AND in relation to your favourite plant: Here's what GDS is asking about it - What we will ask Cannabis remains the most commonly used illicit drug in the world and the first to have its growing to be industrialized in every country - it's probably the most profitable drug in the world. With the dominance of high potency strains, there has been little assessment of whether what people are offered is really what they want to use. Work done by GDS2013 identified high potency herbal strains as being the most popular, the most available and giving the best high but also the type most associated with memory problems and paranoia. GDS2014 is asking the consumer to rank different forms of cannabis on potency and preference and describe the perfect cannabis high and how this compares to what they experience with their currently used preparations. We will also identify how cannabis users go about trying to reduce their risks of harm and how many use it for medical reasons. We will also compare how many of them end up seeking emergency medical treatment each year (and why) compared to those who have used synthetic cannabis products which GDS2013 identified as being associated with a wide range of unwanted effects. Why this is important – We hope to challenge the dominance of the high potency market based on consumer feedback and provide cannabis users with the best harm reduction advice based on the experience of 10s of thousands of users across the world.

  16. This is the method I use to produce canna-butter from trash that would otherwise hit the compost heap. Ingredients cannabis trash... a couple of shopping bags full. 750g butter Equipment slow cooker wooden spoon 3 large bowls (pref stainless steel) sieve potato ricer 1 small bowl 1 paper coffee filter 1 darning needle I usually start this in the evening and let it simmer overnight. First collect the trash Separate the leaf from the stems and chop roughly Put butter into slow cooker (low setting) with the same volume of hot water Once dissolved add the chopped trash Stir well until all the leaf is coated in the melted butter Add enough hot water to make the consistency of thick soup Turn slowcooker to high setting and leave until water begins to bubble, stir and turn down to low. Before you go to bed, stir and top up the water if necessary. In the morning your trash will have darkened considerably Turn cooker off and as it cools collect the remaining equipment. Set the seive over one of the large bowls, fill the potato ricer about halfway with cooked trash and squeeze Empty ricer into a small container and set aside Repeat until you have skimmed close to all the trash out of the cooker, pour remaining water etc through the seive and collect in the bowl Set aside to cool and collect the greasy utensils Rinse with hot water, collecting all the runoff in another large bowl and add the trash you put aside earlier and stir Strain the mixture again through the ricer and seive and collect in the third bowl... if the trash still feels very greasy you may want to increase the heat of the water and strain for a third time. Now the hard part... find enough room in the fridge to set out your bowls... try not to remove your housemate's snags and bacon if possible That concludes the first stage.. cooking and initial straining. I'll post the next stage once the butter has solidified.

  17. Hey ........... and Indy, I agree wholeheartedly with both of your statements. I have just now sent off this email to the research team. To Whom it may concern, I have just seen a message posted on an Australia cannabis site asking for individuals who have 'experienced a mind-bending' or a 'bad trip' to be part of your research. I clearly understand that your funding is via government but as other countries around the world have researched and discovered rather than taking the negative approach, which you already have, simply by the wording of your statement, there is far more benefit in taking a more holistic approach to the subject of cannabis use.Another of your 'research' team (Prof Jan Copeland) has already made it very clear that the only view being researched by UoW is one of negativity. It is my belief that this negativity is now very outdated view by many nations and it is about time that both the university and the funding body associated reassess their focus from the negative aspect of cannabis to the beneficial properties contained within the cannabis plant. As a medical consumer myself I find your statements and approach in conducting your research already has a predetermined outcome, being one of negativity and due to this I will not be participating in such a badly slanted research platform. Your sincerely Merl Let's see if I get a response Merl1n

  18. Those are some pretty offensive posts there Gazza and Pedro, but as far as I am concerned free speach is important and you fellas have layed your cards on the table so I won't delete unless a report comes through. IMO it is important to let people say what they want to say, not everyone has to agree and it is okay to be offended sometimes. It lets you know there are differering perspectives in this world and if we can share them at least we have some conversation. IMO The country we all live in is a country that has been built on immigration, so unless you are 100% indigenous you are, at least partly, an immigrant yourself. In recent times I am often embarrassed and ashamed to be an Australian. I am ashamed of the way my anscestors treated, and still do treat in many cases, the worlds oldest, most successful culture. I used to be proud under the southern cross, but now the southern cross represents violence and fascism. We sit on opposite sides of the fence on this issue, but in reality, I think we all want the same thing, but our governments and puppet masters have created these dichotomies to keep us busy fighting with each other while we slave away. There is no white or black, or, left or right, it's all a smoke screen, a big fucken lie, to keep even those who become aware of the slave trade we are all a part of busy fighting each other and not the real enemies like the who, the world bank and the un. I think what we all want is to feel safe and know our families and future generations will be safe, secure and free to live their lives the way they want to. Our country, post white settlement, has been built on immigration. One of the most Aussie things you can do is head down to the local Chinese resteraunt for a big night on the chop sticks, where you can be Aussie as, you can easily get away with putting on your best strides and matching Hawaiin shirt or head in after a few after work beers in your king gees and boots. Oh and Fuck Dutton, what a cunt.

My advice would be forget about all this that and the other and go back to basic. If you have the genetics all the addives are not needed, good air flow good light and feeding is all that is needed and the plants will do there thing. Before all this fancy stuff came on the market ppl where doing very well with the basics to use for growing. For the most part IMO all the extras that are on the market are just a money spinner, just my 2 bob worth...

  20. Have Been playing around with using bubble hash in edibles, and made some shit hot brownies...... Have worked out a good ratio of 2 tablepoons of Coconut oil to 2 grams of Bubble Hash. For one Pack of these Brownies, I used just 2 grams of good Bubble hash....... the effects were VERY suprising. Oh and this mix is like a chocolate Vortex... I recommend an eighth of the whole slab to start, effects start after 25 minutes, much quicker delivery than butter mixes. We tried another 1/8th 2hours later, and ended up all munted and passed out an hour after that..... 3 seasoned smokers. 1/2 of 1/8th is a good buzz, which is what I'm on now and the after affects of last night still linger. Here's some info I'm sure most of you know, but for those that don't, Welcome to edible's....... Some info from an Edibles Guru....... "Ingesting marijuana and hash, aka eating it, brings very different affects compared to smoking. Veteran smokers are often floored by a standard strength edible. Why is this? What about tolerance? Why do high tolerance smokers get so high from standard edibles? The simple answer is that smoking Cannabis creates delta-9-THC, and eating it makes 11-hydroxy-THC, which is 10x more psychoactive than delta-9-THC. To get high from Cannabis we first use heat to break the "-A" off of the "THC-A" and "CBD-A". For smoking marijuana, this happens as you burn, the heat of the fire breaks the "-A" off and we get high from THC and CBD. The process of removing the "-A" group is known as decarboxylation. The "-A" is a carboxyl group (COOH). Enough nerd talk. In simple terms, you have to activate the THC before you eat it." Matt Rize Cooking Marijuana & Hash: Part 1 Decarboxylation: The general rule for decarboxylating THC-A into THC is 90 minutes at 100 C degrees. That's the temperature of boiling water. The idea is you double boil your hash in Coconut Oil for 90 minutes, stirring occasionally and use that oil to cook, or even better eat without further cooking. Use a Pot of boiling water with a bowl inside, or double boiler. Baking temperatures of 200C aren't even usable as that is way too hot for THC. Bake Brownies at 140C for 1 hour. No higher or you will start to vapourize the THC. There is a slight taste of cannabis, but I must say, its the cleanest tasting edible i've had. This is what happened, after 24 hours of Canna tripping......... ........ Last slice anyone. hehe Here are a few baked goods, winter is a coming, and I'm getting ready..... Chicken Curry Pie and Apple Turnovers - Stoner Size...... Canna Steak, Tomato and Cheese Pie........ Ok, thats it, just waiting till harvest so i can make some more bubble for some baking, but get into it! It's not just for Baking, theres Hot drinks, pastas, Stews, anything you can eat, you can use it in. Just remember to keep the cooking temps under 140C and you wont Vapourize the THC ya wanna eat. Off to finish that last slice...... hehe...... awesome. Peace. Nibbler.

  22. someone needs to learn basic maths "More than 200 drug driving tests were performed on Monday, December 28, with 46 tests coming back positive, yet to be analysed. The figures represent a dramatic increase on last year's numbers with 41 drug driving tests performed on the same day returning nine positive results." 200 tests with 46 positive = 23% (ok so there were more than 200 tests) 220 tests with 46 positive = 20.9% (220 is just a random number) 41 tests with 9 positive = 21.95% so where is this "dramatic increase"?

  23. High Times Cannabis Cup... Where to start mate. Well, firstly, I have grown several different Cannabis Cup winning strains over the last couple of years, using a couple different hydro methods. One was an abomination, some others decent quality bud, but not what I would expect from a HTCC winner, not close. I have also grown other non HTCC winning strains during the same grows and in others and most of them have been much better, including a random bag seed. I got some Super Silver Haze and White Russian last year, with it a bunch of free 'Delicious' seeds. I'm growing the delicious seeds again this year and dropping the others because of both yield and overall quality. Now that's just growing HTCC winning strains, mate, I've been to the HTCC in Holland. Nothing to see here, was an overpriced money sucker by High Times. The coffee shops themselves were amazing, but the shops that had a chance of winning, and the winner that year were giving everyone really good deals. Like the kind of deal for weed and hash that you either lose or make no money from. They win because they almost paid to win through a range of different promotional means, not because they had the best weed this year. This industry is a massive global business, yes people will spend a lot of money to make sure you smoking up their bud. So I respect that your trying to have a bit of fun here with the whole HTCC thing, but you also are naive to the fact that most people don't care. I too, alike you used to think these award winning strains were the holy grail of cannabis, but through time and my own life experiences, I found that not to be so. I can't say I have grown them all, or that I grow the best bud. But I have been all around the world including Colorado, BC, Spain, England and Holland and smoked some of the best bud, and the best bud didn't have a cup associated with it. Good luck with it though, I'm sure you will crop some nice tasty heads that would be 1000 times better than the shit you get from Joe Blogs. Cyclone -

  24. A common problem many growers face is, how to maintain a diverse range of strains, without firstly, increasing plant numbers and secondly, without extending veg room grow spaces. The answer to this question may lie in the technique known as grafting. Grafting is used in many plant nurseries to produce consistent fruit in plants such as apples, passion fruit and citrus. And may also be applied to cannabis. In the citrus industry a variety known as a fruit salad tree is often produced. A fruit salad tree may contain various species of citrus on the one root stock, so you can have a single tree that produces; oranges, lemons, mandarins and grapefruit, reducing space requirements and workload for the home gardener and risk, for the cannabis grower. Materials: Grafting tape Clean razor blades Water Spray bottle Clip seal bags Marker pen Mother plant rootstock A variety of cannabis plants For this thread, Hindu kush x Cindarella 99, Cindarella 99 and Sweet Special were grafted onto a bootleg Super Silver Haze rootstock. In the fruit growing industry, all foliage is typically removed from the rootstock, and a clone (or scion, as it is termed for grafting) from a known good producer is grafted, however, in this case, the foliage of the rootstock plant was kept. Method: Cuttings were taken from the lower branches of the HK99, C99x and SS Using a clean razor blade, tops were removed from the rootstock a few cm's above a node, A cut was made directly into the top of the newly cut stem. The base of the scion was cut to form a wedge shape, exposing the cambrium layer, before being placed into its new home in the rootstock. Next, grafting tape was used to seal the two pieces together. Finally, water was sprayed into a clip seal bag which was placed over the new branch. For the following week or so, 'till the wound was mostly healed, the bag was carefully opened and sprayed with tap water. Over the next few days, the new scions began to wilt and look generally droopy and sick. After a couple of days the survivors turned towards the light and perked up again. In this example, there was about a 50% success rate. Once the new branches were looking healthy again, the bag was removed. TBC

  25. Hi groovers, Life is never easy all the time for anyone and a smile, a kind word or a little assistance goes along way for both the giver and recipient of a kind act. Sometimes just being on the sideline and witnessing another persons kindness can make our journey through life that much easier, pleasant or at least less suckful. I have the wonderful opportunity to reward those people who make life better for everyone else. I am calling for nominations for a kindness reward. If you see someone on these pages who you feel is deserving of some free seeds PM me and tell me who and why. I am collecting a list of these nominees and will occasionally pick someone and send them something just because I can (do I have a good job or what). 26. According to marketing blurb, 315w CMH lights are meant to be equivalent to a 600w HPS. Now, I've always been cynical about those claims, just like the similar claims being made by LED manufacturers, but never thought that necessarily made them bad lights. LED's and their particular pros and cons mean they aren't what I'm looking for, but the CMH lights seemed to be, so I bought a couple of Hi Par 315's to have a crack. I've been growing under 2 x 600w HPS in a 1.2*2.4*2.0 tent for a while now, so have a very good idea what to expect. Best yield was 1200g, worst 980g, but generally I hit 1100g ish. As some of you know I'm one of those idiots that likes to do multi strain grows, which means compromises and assorted problems, all of which mean I could improve yields with single strain grows, but I love making my life difficult, and love variety in the stash even more, but I still manage an average yield around 1100g consistently unless I have a couple of visits from the Fuck Up Fairy. So a 4 strain grow with 5 distinct phenotypes was the test grow for these lights, pretty standard stuff, in coco/perlite fed via Tropf Blumat Drippers as usual, with my usual EC of 1.2-1.3 and normal nutrient and pest control regimes. Usual mix of medium and good yielding plants, plus one plant having an unexpected under stretch, and one an unexpected over stretch. Short version, everything as normal and average. Ended up with a fully filled space, nice even bud spacing, blah blah, and except for the under stretcher one of the better SCROG's I've ever managed: Pic of a bit after mid flower stage. So, whilst I could have achieved a bit better if everything went perfect, I'm comfortable calling this well and truly good enough to be called average, and therefore directly comparable to previous average grows. Yield came in at 920 grams, or 180g below average, which roughly equates to a 20% reduction in yield. So, whilst I'm calling bullshit on marketing claims, I'm still impressed, and see it as about as good as I could have expected from 630 watts compared to 1200 watts. And further to this, I will add that there are more important things than yield, and for me at least these lights delivered other extra benefits compared to HPS. For starters, my plants stayed lush and healthy right through to late flower, which is something I've never achieved under HPS before, only outdoors. I put that down to issues with low humidity which HPS only seems to add to in my local climate. This is my 1st crop to have zero loss to mould, yes I usually only lose a quarter to half an oz but it's still significant. Resin production looks to be slightly improved as well, which is a big deal for me, and smells and taste also seem to be deeper and nicer like outdoor plants tend to be. And finally the stone seems to be more complete and nicely rounded, also in the manner of outdoor plants. I put those things down to these lights having a spectrum which is supposed to be close to natural sunlight. Only problem I see with these lights is a matter of pure power. A bit like comparing a 3l German V6 to a 5l Yank V8, the V6 performs great and is a lot more efficient, but when it comes down to pure output nothing beats a muscle car. And this was apparent from about the time of the above pic, everything was lovely but I could tell looking at bud size that they just weren't as big as normal at that stage. Bud density was as normal, resin production was great, but they just weren't pumping up quite as much as they should, so the 20% yield reduction was no surprise. I love these lights, and will continue to use them, but mainly due to my local climate rather than saving electricity costs. The significantly lower (and I mean significant) heat output in my situation is extremely valuable, but in a more temperate and humid coastal environment it would be much less of an issue. If I moved to the coast I'd still use them due to the other benefits, but I wouldn't be so keen to drop the coin on them over HPS in that situation. So in tems of recommending them to others or not, I'd say research their pros and cons and your particular situation and make your own judgement. They are awesome lights, but just don't pack the same punch. I have used 400w HPS, and these are a much better light in that situation if you can afford to buy them. One issue is with different globes. I ran the flowering globe (930 from memory) for the whole grow, and veg growth was much slower in an upward direction, but node numbers were at a standard rate if that makes sense? Very tight structure, which is not necessarily a bad thing indoors, but this was possibly just a little too tight. Did come out nicely at stretch though, and stretch was a little more manageable than under HPS. I think the 942 globe is for veg, but at $180 a globe I just don't see the value for something that's used for 3-4 weeks instead of just vegging for a week longer. I feel the same about the 10,000 globe you can get for finishing off flowering last couple of weeks, but I don't have much money. My future thought is to start off under HPS for a couple of weeks rather than buy extra globes and then give them a week or 2 under CMH before flipping. My other future thought is to run 3 CMH instead of 2. 945w is still significantly less than 1200w, and the heat output will still be significantly lower. I noticed that the plant in the middle getting the crossover light performed much better on bud size, so I reckon that would be enough to push yield well over my HPS average whilst still retaining the other benefits of these lights. On the temperature output issue. During the warmer weather these lights raised tent temps above ambient by very little compared to HPS, 4-6 degrees compared to 10-12, and that's running a lower fan speed than I would with HPS. So in hot weather these are worth their weight in gold, and hot weather is 3/4 of the year here. When temps dropped though, I'd have to say I started to miss my HPS lights, these just don't pump out much heat at all, probably about the same as a 250w HPS going on back of hand test and tent temps. Hope this info helps some of you with decision making, and I'm happy to try and answer any questions.

  30. Not true. I know for a fact several people charge those they "donate" medicinal cannabis to surreptitiously despite claiming to do this all for free. • Several people where? not on this site And they attack Don as "profiteer". It's nonsense and it's dishonest. • magic Butter machine from the profiteer Langdon Brown/ the Don $1500.00au • magic butter machine from OzBongs 250au • Who has the 600% mark up? • Nothing dishonest except for langdon's price Really, there are millions of people out there providing goods/services in exchange for money, and in the process make a living for themselves, and here you are singling out Don, the most established medicinal cannabis provider in Australia for simply running a business? · Define the most established? · Many other Medical Cannabis providers out there The Don was the one to become very public · I can name at least 3 medical cannabis clubs that have been around since the 90’s… Langdon has been in business for 3 years maybe 4 · he is not “simply running a business” he is operating an illegal business. · 600% mark up is called profiteering, aka preying on the sick, Langdon made that mark up 600% not me or anyone here. What is the point of attacking people in the community like this? · What is the point of backing someone who makes a business using unethical methods… Jealousy and fratricidal ill-will is how medicinal cannabis remains illegal, and stays out of the hands of millions of people in Australia. · · · nice try Given Australia is not a socialist country, and doctors, chemists, and pharmaceutical all make money providing medicinal products/serves to the sick, I don't see what the issue is. · remember that 600% mark up? · providing a drug that does not contain what it states to contain · The Don IS NOT a Doctor · The Don IS NOT a Chemist · The Don IS NOT a Pharmacist · The Don IS providing an illegal drug and compounding without a pharmacy license also very illegal Nonsense. If Don closed down his business, medicinal cannabis would not get more affordable. The people currently using his services would simply not be able to get it, or have to rely on less reliable and less established sources that often work with organized crime. • Ah, so there are no other options for medical cannabis in Australia it's the Don or it's Organized crime - wow thanks for letting me know Seriously, the economic ignorance shown here is just scary. It's a witch hunt in here, and against the leading provider of medicinal cannabis in Australia. He needs all of your support, and instead you have become his worst and most vicious opponents. Economic ignorance? I still think you are Langdon Brown, since that is his background (oh look an investment banker, one of the scummiest jobs in the world (IMO))He would have our support if he did not lie and deceive medical cannabis patients I had the displeasure of meeting Langdon at the Tamworth Symposium. He went out his way to interrupt Lucy Haslam on multiple occasions and was told to basically shut up by Helen (the host). Langdon is a (^$* (my very public opinion) and yes, happily tell that to his face, with pleasure, and a smile too.

  32. Before we had all these fancy grinders and mullers we have to day. We chopped with scissors or a parsley grinder, the ones we use to get back then where mostly plastic and would brake easy or ware out after a few months use. Kitchen shop in town having a sale went and had a look see and got a full stainless steel "Parsley Grinder" for $9. I got it to mull up for my BHO runs

  33. Your welcome guys I feel I must apologize for steering off topic with this as this thread was originally about an individual that out of ignorance I know very little about. At the same time, Im glad I did choose to express my feelings about the nature of this as it revealed what many others passionately feel about this situation evolving in this country. Perhaps it is for another topic yet again, but I do not feel that legalization under the pretense of medical is a good idea at all. The initial thought of legalization excites many at first thought, the idea of being allowed to grow without fear of prosecution seems quite grand and liberating and a step forward. "Medical oil for the children" ,"Medical oil for the sick", "Compassion for the people" is the picture that politicians like Senator Natale would like to pander, but this is the pandering of nothing but lies imo. Politicians have used "tough on drug war" policies to gain votes for many years, but their prerogatives always remain the same. Campaign = Votes = Election = Money under the table.... it has been like this from the beginning. Only this time, they are "Pro Cannabis" but the motive and prerogative always remains the same. To believe the concept of them actually having compassion for people is laughable. They only see dollar signs and with your vote you will give them exactly what they want. They have joined hands with pharmaceuticals and put money before human life for a very long time. Their only interest in legalization is money... "Instead of missing out on a cut of the black market, lets use the "medical" aspect to get it across the line for conservative voters and then we can reap the revenue" For some, their true motive is transparent, others cant see past their nose. But the part that upsets me most, is that with legalization many will not only be happy, but thank the government for allowing it to happen. This... is spitting in the face of all those who have lost their lives, had their lives torn apart, incarcerated and were prosecuted due to prohibition of cannabis through the years. To understand this more easily... imagine having a little quiet farming village in the 16th century. There is a neighboring castle that tears through your village constantly, raping and pillaging, burning your crops to the ground for 100 years. Then all of a sudden, they come to your village and say "We are not going to attack your village anymore and we would like to purchase your crops from you" And you are supposed to be happy and thank them? After all they have done for the last 100 years and all of a sudden it's ok? I would rather incarceration than invite the devil to eat at my table. Thank you for putting up with my little rant, I am also very passionate about this subject and sometimes need to vent some steam. Rose.

  34. I think I am with Louise on this... I call shenanigans on Joan. I quote Coltyn Turner, (Search him) "Laws and regulations are irrelevant when choosing between life and death. I'd rather be illegally alive than legally dead." It is one thing to personally suffer a living nightmare of pain and sickness that no pharmaceutical can relieve, but an even worse nightmare to watch as somebody you love and care about suffers and you are completely powerless to help them. If you truly know this pain, then you know there is no limit, no law, nothing that would stop you from doing anything to save the people you love. This is why people make and give away oil for free, regardless of risk and consequence. Because they know true suffering and would not wish it upon their worst enemy.

  35. I find this thread has demonstrated a very important message to those who newly seek medical oil in this country. That just like in the story of "Little Red Riding Hood", a new and somewhat nieve person must travel through the dark woods to the safety of Granny's house, but there are wolves along the path with dishonorable intentions sometimes. The wolf in this case may have whispered lies that "we here" or "smokers" are simply unemployed, uneducated no hopers zipping around on skateboards, which fits in well with previous propaganda of past. I think we all may have had at least one stage in our life where we stood up and went "blue in the face" to defend a belief we were so sure was true, only to find a deeper truth and realize we were simply so wrong and mislead. Beyond medical use, cannabis as many would agree is a "gateway", not to harder drugs, but to thinking deeper into the way the world works and allowing us to see through the "smoke and mirrors" that the world creates over the eyes of so many. We know this, that is what unites us as a family that I will forever be proud to be part of Rose.

  38. Cannabis Compassion Australia's submission (No.86) to the Regulator of Medicinal Cannabis Bill 2014 asked that the committee give particular consideration to the following points when making its final report… :- Current cannabis laws cultivate organised crime and they are making organised criminal gangs rich. These laws HAVE to change for the benefit of all Australians. :- Medical cannabis in Australia is currently seen as a potential money pot by many business people. Thus, Australia’s looming medical cannabis industry is very attractive to a lot of people who, whilst experienced in business and profit making, may not always be working in the patients’ best interest as they are new to cannabis and are very limited on any in depth knowledge or expertise regarding medical cannabis. :- PATIENTS MUST COME BEFORE PROFITS. :- Importing medical cannabis is an option but there is little reason for doing so when it can be produced easily within Australia, supplying jobs to Australian's and export opportunities for Australian companies. Australian cannabis breeders have created and hold many cultivars of medical cannabis that are unique to Australia including a large number of cannabis australis cultivars. :- Unlike conventional pharmaceutical medications, cannabis is often best used in a “whole plant” form and individual cannabis cultivars can have vastly different and sometimes unique medical uses. It is imperative that Australian cannabis breeders are able to supply their own cultivars to any legal Australian cannabis industry and not have to rely on importing “new” cannabis genetics from overseas. Australian cannabis breeders need an amnesty period in order to bring these Australian medical cannabis cultivars under a legal framework. :- There are many people with years of experience and knowledge on medical cannabis in Australia who are currently operating in fear of antiquated cannabis laws that are not in the public interest. They are producing, processing and supplying cannabis medicines to patients or they are patients themselves. Many of these people have been charged for it at some time and now carry a criminal record because of it. This should not be an automatic reason to be prevented and excluded from any form of legal licensing or other system that is introduced to regulate medical cannabis given the importance of their knowledge and experience to any future legal medical cannabis industry in Australia. :- Australian cannabis carers need an amnesty period in order to move from operating clandestinely to under a open legal framework. :- The NCPIC are a government funded cannabis information service. The NCPIC only publishes anti-cannabis information or information that shows cannabis in a negative way. This has sometimes included fabricated and misleading information. Although being involved in medical cannabis trials themselves, the NCPIC does not recognize that cannabis has medical uses beyond their own trials. Given the NCPIC was initially started with assistance from Pfizer pharmaceuticals a cynical mind would be wondering if there is more than just a conflict of interest here. We ask that this committee recommends an inquiry into the NCPIC to look into why they have published misleading and false information regarding medical cannabis and if the NCPIC need to be replaced entirely in order to supply Australia with the government funded cannabis information service they NEED and can rely on to publish all relevant cannabis information (not just anti-cannabis) that is based wholly on science and free of any bias, personal agendas or conflicting interests. We nicked a wheelie bin and cut in 1/2 and used that as a pot, best thing for moving a plant and putting it away at night Thw soil it is in was make up of potting mix food scraps horse and chook poo composted for for at least 6 months and a few monts before planting a dead chook in bottom of pot. They was taken about a month after the pics if i remember rite, plants where gettin ripped off a bit at the time so we took em so not to loose them our self it was over 20 years ago . The pics had to be done old school way and sent off to get developed, we had so many done that way . As to strain have no clue they are just bag seed we would save from good weed we had scored. There 2 plants in the one pot...

  41. Hey Painman, I have a clear understanding of your predicament, I too have to manage chronic pain, something I believe many people have very little understanding of. The idea of "You have pain, take a panadol" is offensive and shows a complete lack of understanding for those trying to manage unresolved issues of pain. In saying this I also have practical knowledge in the area of addiction and understand what the DDA rules are and why they need to be revised regularly. But to place a blanket ban on their use is inhumane. DASSA do have a role to fulfil and there is a need for DASSA in regard to addiction, but as an information service and not as a regulatory body. We are not all addicts and to label us all as addicts is very unhelpful. Like your wife I have been referred to the RAH Pain Clinic and it seems the easiest and most convenient answer is to say it is a psychological issue. Last year I had 2 major operations, at a review I was informed that the body has healed fully after 6 months maximum, so any pain is NOT related to the surgeries. The surgeons have 'fixed' the problem, meaning it must be psychological. It seems I am imagining the pain, which would be great as I should now be able to imagine the pain away. I have been a thorn in the side of the medical fraternity for many years, labelled everything from an addict to a mental case even after being diagnosed with a known condition. But it is much more simple to label me a nutter than to actually query what the hell is going on. When I queried I was asked if I intended to sue the practitioner , which I had/have no intention of what so ever. In my view if they did not operate, I'd be dead. It's that simple. I'm looking for answers, not blame. For me, I know I can become easily addicted, so I try to maintain minimal use of pharma concoctions. They mess with my insides something terrible. I have not been able to cut them out of my pain management regime completely but I am certainly not taking them at their "recommended maximum dosage". It has been Cannabis that has allowed me to be able to manage this at a level which is sustainable. I grow my own, for me. I make my own oil, for me. I make my own hash, for me. I do not sell or swap as then I'll run myself short. Growing my own is simple (hell, if I can do it, anybody can) I control the environment, I control the plant and being semi automated, I can do so around my pain and ability. Like my pain its all a case of management. Here on Ozstoners there is loads of information. Personally I'd recommend you start in Cannaversity (tab at the top of the page) it gives you a decent overview of differing methods of growing. Grow diaries are also good in that it shows you what others are doing. You can also learn from other people's errors. If you decide that you are going to grow then the forums can be fantastic for obtaining answers to specific problems you may come across. The membership here are brilliant in sharing knowledge, we all have hiccups, we all have things we aren't sure of, so ask. You state that you can't grow due to differing reasons, primarily your own health. Instead of looking at the obstacles that prevent you from providing your own medications, start looking at how you can. You don't need a huge area, you don't need special chemicals. Start simple, then improve. Have a change in mindset and make a plan. Use the resources you have. US. Best of luck with it all, and if you need help, then ask. Merl1n

  42. Exactly, stats 101 - a temporal contiguity does not a causal relationship make.... I wonder... did she have a sandwich before smoking the joint and going to bed? ... studies show that most cardiac arrests in western countries occur within a few hours of consuming wheat products that have been cooked into breads. It's quite alarming to think that governments around the world are not warning us about the potential harms of eating bread. Yeah, I am being facetious, but I'm not trying to make light of this woman's death... every premature death is a human tragedy. Back to statistics ... for quite some time doctors believed constipation could cause a cardiac arrest. The evidence was that many people had their heart attack whilst sitting on the toilet... it was surmised that straining over a bowel motion could trigger heart failure. It was decades before the relationship was proved spurious... these days the relationship b/w toilets and heart attacks is explained thus - ... in the lead up to a heart attack, many people feel a bit sick in the guts and when you feel like that - you head to the loo. The relationship is purely social (that's where we go when we feel crook). All that said, the way I see it is that governments are NOT interested so much in the health of their country's population. They are interested in controlling behaviour, health issues are just a screen used to scare us into submission and accept that 'they' know what is good for 'us'. If we were truly intent on improving the health of the nation we'd be putting effort into the diseases that are on the rise (remembering that psychosis rates are actually DECLINING) like stds... gonorrhoea and chlamydia, both on the rise and both have major impacts on health and fertility.... not to mention HIV, which after a few years at a plateau, new cases are rising and have been rising each year since 2011/2012. And it's not just about cost either, huge amounts of public moneys were spent to develop, test and implement a quick and easy cannabis detection kit... ostensibly to keep our roads safe from stoners in cars, yet we still don't have rapid testing for HIV. And that is despite rapid testing being recognised as one of the important steps to controlling the spread of disease over a decade ago. I'll step down off the soapbox now because this homeless guy keeps telling me to get off his roof.

  43. If you're using this stuff you obviously stopped caring about bud quality a while back. I see people getting excited about 'preserving' their buds and 'stopping them oxidising'. Cannabis dried and cured properly will last a very long time (years upon years) without deteriorating, there is no need for a product like this unless you are looking for unscrupulous weight gain. I do have to give the company top marks for marketing though, they have managed to suck a lot of people in who should know better. Naycha

  44. Hi everyone Just wanted to give you an update on our project. At the moment I have been merging datasets from different countries into one - so we can look at country specific differences in cannabis cultivation. Currently we have North America, Belgium, Australia, Finland and Denmark merged, with over 5000 growers represented! Netherlands and Germany are soon to come, but UK and NZ are lagging behind in their data collection, so not sure when they will be included. As a group, we were accepted to edit a special issue of the International Journal of Drug Policy which will be all about cannabis cultivation - including papers from this data as well as other researchers with projects on this topic. Papers aren't due until 2014 so it's not likely the issue will be published until 2015. I'll keep you all informed of our progress. Remembering that we could not have achieved this without the support of OZStoners In other news, I'm going to have a baby, due in December, so in a couple of months, I'll be taking some leave... still intend to continue working in this field with the support of my husband and both sets of new grandparents but, naturally, things will be a little bit interrupted over the next couple of years! Cheers Monica

  46. The home stretch... With each wash the butter will get a little lighter in colour and there will be less gunge adhering to the bottom of the slab. This is the water after the second wash, by the third it was clear but I was starting to feel the effects of the sample I took after the second and forgot the camera. Once you have gone through as many washes as you want... mash the butter up with a fork, holding the bowl on an angle and tip off any remaining water. If the butter gets to soft you'll end up whipping air into it... try not to do this (like I did) because it makes it a bastard to filter. Now take the coffee filter and wet it with water, gently squeeze of any excess and line the sieve... place the sieve over a generously sized container. Take the darning needle and punch a few dozen holes into the filter, be careful not to tear the paper. Butter oil will slowly drip through the filter but if you don't help it along with the darning needle the butter will cool and thicken before it has all drained through the filter. Sorry, got a little slack with the camera... was getting rather trashed on the samples by this point. Transfer the butter from the stainless bowl to a plastic container that can go in the microwave. Remelt the butter in the microwave (check at 10 sec intervals) and then pour slowly into the coffee filter. The creamy top layer is from me beating too much air in with the fork. ^ this isn't necessary to improve the taste, it's fine after 3 washes but it looks a little nicer if you filter off any remaining scum. I didn't end up filtering all of it... cbf. After that all that's left to do is pour the butter into storage containers (that's if you didn't filter directly into a storage container) and whack it in the fridge. If you will be using the butter over the next few weeks, it's fine in the fridge. If you want to keep it longer either freeze or remelt and store refridgerated in a 5% salt solution.
