  1. good to see you Stoney
  2. i tend to agree with the amount of steps that the legal MJ movement has made in the past few years in US i can easily see it finally starting to make good steps in AUST soon. We dont need to try and hide behind anything we simply need to keep putting pressure on the pollies in the right way not by giving them ways to bring up old debates.... Bring on the legal medicinal growing of weed in AUST as we all know we usually follow US in everything we do anyway cheerz
  3. congates to all that entered and all the top 5...... let the best buds win :-D cheerz
  4. ahhhhh an oldy but a goodie topic.... There has been many many many threads about topping/fimming if you do a search you will see both pro's and con's about each, the reason its done to to increase the budsites that a plant has coming into flower to then promote better yeild (sometimes not the case) and a smaller bushy plant. Now i used to be the biggest preacher of tipping and used to do it weekly untill my plants were perfect BUT after alot of doing this and trying other methods i realized that tipping infact stresses your plants out to the point of slowing there growth down majorly!!! Now i was veging for anywhere from 4-6 weeks to get the desired result and every time i tipped i found the plants slowed growth to almost a halt for about 6-7 days as a result of the stress, now it may have just been the strains i was using at the time but hey 5-6 strains all doing the same, to me shows a problem. Now i use LST (low stress training) and once you know ehat your doing you will get the exact same results and veg time has reduced to 2-3 weeks so you can see the difference, for more info on LST do a search as again there are quiet a few threads about it on the boards already.... cheerz
  5. hey hey great to hear your back on track i had a feeling it was PH issues coupled together with resulting nute burn, although keep an eye on that tent next time you use it i and many others have had issues that looked very similar to your problem when first using tents. I had to hook up a frikin jet engine fan to get rid of all the chems being leached off my tent once it was set up.... Anyhoo good to hear your rocking along again keep it green man cheerz
  6. dont fuck around with spidermites specially not if ya going into flower as they can and will fuck ya whole crop. Miterid i have used and swear by the stuff, spidemites are terrible little shits and are hard to kill without killing or damaging your plants, if your heading into flower i would suggest do the 2 sprays as it says on the bottle and about 3-4 days after the second spray with lights on and full exhaust going give all the plants a good drenching with soda water. This will remove most of the residue on the plants and not effect the taste or smoke as much. Next time hit em hard as soon as you see cob webs cheerz
  7. ahhhhh the age old question..... does size really matter lmao well it really comes down to your paranoia really, for instance i use the SOG method (Sea Of Green = multiple clones per tub) and i put in about 4-5 clones per tub in a 6 pot system so thats anywhere from 24-30 plants, yes high numbers like that would make the po po just and click there heals but when it comes to growing ya fucked either way most of the time and if you include clones into it most people will have anywhere from 6-30 plants in there house at any givin time anyway (including mums) and as stated by Tony his clones that were found were thrown out of court as they were not counted as plants, thats a ver thin line that obviously payed off for him BUT everyone should not hope this will happen to them, i know for a fact that if a clone has even 1 root it can and in most cases will be classed as a plant, and when you think it can take only 1 week for a fresh cutting to start developing a root system then you can see its a very thin line.... So it really comes down to what you personally want to do, as stated i grow more numbers and use less time compared to less numbers. I harvest my room pretty much ever 3 months thats 2-3 weeks veg and 8 weeks flower i get rufly 4 grows per year where as you would get anywhere between 2-3 grows if using less plants and growing them bigger. The other problem you have with bigger plants is bigger head room, this means you need a decent high roof say in a shed or similar i use a tent so im restricted in the head height i can get to. So at the end of the day how many grows do you want a year and is ya paranoia under control is the real question hahahaha cheerz
  8. thread merged (no need for 2 of them ) Now to your question, the reason why alot of us flush before 12/12 is to clear out any salt buildups and to also rid our medium of any left over grow nutes, grow nutes are high in nitrogen and these high levels are not needed in flower and can infact stretch your buds out if left as a salt build up in your system. I have heard of the 48hr darkness for pre flower but have never subscribed to this theory as all i think it would do is stretch your plants right out which you wont need as the first 2 weeks your plants will naturally stretch. So all in all i would just simply give em abit of a flush wack em on 12/12 and sit back and enjoy the next 8-12 weeks :-D Cheerz
  9. Follow that tute to every detail and you will have no probs what so ever. Personally i dont use the glass of water method i used paper towel, i dont know if distilled water helps at all but i know you have to keep the paper towel damp but not saturated, too much water can kill ya seeds if using the paper towel method, I always, specially during summer, put a bowl over the top of my plate that im using, i find this creates a nice warm environment with a good humidity and your paper towel does not dry out as quick, use a sprayer to dampen the paper towel not water from the tap as you usually saturate the towel pretty quickly hope that helps cheerz
  10. hey hey Looks to me like you have yourself a case of nute burn.... This can be caused by a few things but mostly by too higher ec or ppm. Alot of new growers get nute burn due to not knowing the signs of PH lockout, so they see there plant lacking nutes so they up the PPM and then whadda ya know, burnies on ya leafies Now i would still be looking at a PH lock out or even a salt build up in your substraight so the best way to figure out the issue is to find out what PPM you feed them at to start, then next step i would flush with 10lt of PH adjusted water before you do this test the PPM of your tap water you will need this later to compare over flow PPM. Catch some of the overflow and we need to test that to cancel out 2 2 problems, first of all check the PPM of the waste water, is it the same as the origonal PPM you started with??? If so i would be guessing you have a salt build up in you coco this can be fixed very similar to a PH lockout but lets test that first. The same test sample now needs to be tested for any PH increases. So if you test your PH and it has changed majorly from what you origonally had then im guessing you have PH issues as well. Now to fix both problems is quiet simple, for Salt buildups simply flush with straight water PH adjusted (if you think your plants are susceptable to PH issues, i never used to worry as my plants didnt care much) and keep flushing and testing the run off untill you get to a similar PPM that you started with..... To fix a PH lockout same thing really but make sure your PH is adjusted before you flush and test the PH after each flush, a little tip i used to use to do it quicker is use fairly low PH water at the start if high PH is your issue and vice vera if low PH is the issue, usually its high, and for the last flush once your close to getting it right make sure its spot on the PH that you want. Another tip for you would be to switch to a coco specific nute such as canna coco, as i know its hard to get coco grows spot on with normal nutes. And make sure you aint leaving any run off sitting in those bowls at the bottom as that will be part of the issues if you are.... hope that helps and happy growing!!!
  11. hey hey Yeah these have been used for ages, alot cheeper IMHO its the exact same washer that Bubble Bags get and simply re badge.... and yes a press is a valuable piece of equipment, may i suggest a piecemaker as well, they are probably the best press on the market and ya get the cool little disks
  12. As SS said i cant see much wrong with ya plant, looks in very good health actually, apart from a tiny bit of leaf droop. Was this shot takin straight after lights on?? If so you will notice that the plants during lights off tend to droop abit, i call this sleepy time anyhoo as the lights come on and they wake up the leaves will come back up. I dont think ya problem is ya watering as they will be recieving rufly 900ml, and im guessing there is run off so that the water doesnt build up?? I have used superthrive for many many years and is a great product. I always add it to my res tank pretty much through the whole grow apart from the last few weeks of flower. I also use it as a foliar feed with soda water and fulvic acid or worm wee. cheerz
  13. hey hey A plant can start throwing balls for many differant reasons but its interesting that your mentioning feminized strains, am i to believe that these were brought as fem's?? If so and if from a decent breeder then there must be some sort of light leak or stress that they have been put through..... This can cause any female to start producing balls and then seeds to maintain its life cycle. What i would do and this is just my opinion is to finish the grow harvest and collect the seeds smoke ya buds and plant the seeds from this grow as they again will be feminized seeds. If a plant self pollinates it creates fem seeds. cheerz
  14. does it have many roots out the bottom yet?? i would be hitting it with some Rhizotonic at low concentrate with superthrive and 1/2 strength nutes at the root section (rock wool or jiffy??) make sure ya keeping up the humidity untill ya see some upward growth and it wouldn't hurt to keep spraying is maybe twice a day with some sodium free soda water and some fulvic acid if ya can get some or worm wee. Tipping or topping like Ev said would be better to be held off untill you definatly see a good amount of upwards growth and root formation or you may infact stress the clone and either kill it or stall its growth for a week or so. cheerz
