Bob Carr says yes to medical use

Recommended Posts

Premier Bob Carr indicated that NSW will allow the "compassionate use" of cannabis for patients who did not respond to conventional pain relief drugs, but stated it was not a move to legalise marijuana. A two-year trial would allow people with chronic pain to grow up to five marijuana plants without fear of prosecution. The Opposition Leader, Mrs Kerry Chikarovski, was concerned with the "much understated" side-effects of cannabis while the National Party Leader, Mr Souris, said Mr Carr was "off on his next drug liberalisation adventure".

Look guys, I'll believe it when I actually see it happen. Bob Carr isn't great at keeping promises, he's already said that NSW would put this into action a couple of years ago now, maybe 3. Funny, isn't there an election coming up......? :peace: It's all about the vote! I reckon Mark Lathem would probably have WA up and running with medicinal MJ before bloody Bob Carr has NSW going!

I agree Chev, my votes are going to the Greens, but the more interest the polies show in legalisation the better.

To be honest i am not holding my breath for the greens to do anything either, they will probably do the same as the rest of the polies and bury the issue until they need more votes.

The way i see it, all i can do is vote for what i want and hope there is enough similarity among voters to make the issue something the polies can't ignore.
