hey all

i came accross a home made co2 system in grasshopper72 current diary (check it out)

thought i may as well take some pics while i was building one for myself

This is just so if you want Co2 and haven't got a lot of cash, it will cost you like under $5 to have Co2 circulating around your buds while you flower. It is not intended for large areas, It just won't cut it unless you had HEAPS of them This system gives a boost of co2 while flowering and is not metered or measured or intended to even compare with a pro CO2 set -up. ...all of the info and technique was supplyed by mr hopper himself ..cheers gh72

right need

# 3 ltr milk bottle

# 700-750 grams raw sugar

# packet brewers yeast..5 grams (at woolies in home brew...$1)

# 2.25 ltrs water

# 4@ 4mm hose or straw

# i used a soldering iron but anything you can poke a hole in lid with will do

# and a good mix for waiting

 

righto step 1

dissolve sugar in hot water..( i used half the water first once it cooled down i poured the sugar water into dish and boiled the other half of water and used that to dissolve the sugar the first half didnt)then pour it all into ya 3 lrt bottle...LET IT COOL TO 15-25 C...

step 2

ONCE ya sugar water has cooled enough add the packet of brewers yeast

step 3

LEAVE THE LID OFF just put it in ya room for 1 hr with lid OFF

step 4

grab ya lid for bottle,4 lengths 4 mm hose,,(grasshopper72 used straws but i didnt have any )soldering iron..or poking tool for lid....make four holes in lid (if ya use a soldering iron put hose straight in while plastic is hot it will make a nice seal)

step 5

put all hoses in holes ya made..these are now your co2 breather hoses

step 6

as step 4-5 took buggar all and ya still got 45 mins till ya finish up grab ya pre-prepaired mix and fav bowl or vape or blunt and you get the rest

step 7

screw ya breather cap on and direct ya hose onto ya plants ...there ya go co2 for under 10 bucks

just give it a squeze when ya go vist ya plants and it should last 2 weeks,

Tent wise, seen as they draw from the bottom up, with a good centri running it will keep the co2 moving up through the canopy until it is exhausted out your ducting at the top of the tent, as Co2 is heavier than air

maybe others can add to this with some info on placement or general info on co2

this is 5 days after the co2 was put in there, have noticed some extra growth and seem to be drinking ALOT more each day (more than normal) but over all happy enough ,have just 12/12 so ill post agian after 2 week strech

Idea has been around a long time but cheap and cheerful and not as stupid as burning candles in ya tent. Lmao .

Seen this being done, idiots, very stupid! Flammable...... Awesome HM, maybe they can post this for people as a recipe in here somewhere. Top effort. Gh72

do you have a meter that measures the level of Co2,Many ppl that have tried this have claimed the level of Co2 does not reach the required amount. A good way to tell if it is working is your rooms humidty will spike

As will the growth rates; that can be much harder to measure though.

G'day mate ! Been there done that .. The missus kept throwin the frypan at me cos she never had any ferkin sugar for a cuppa coffee ! Turns out dry ice is'nt a bad drop of beer either ! I like startin up the lawn mower 2 increase CO2 levels in the grow room "bout halfn hour before lights out keeps the missus on her toes mate ! Ya forgot to inform us to Keep a breeze rotating the air Cos the Co2 is heavier than the O2 it will sink below ya pots and do nothing for ya grow ... and make sure ya let the mix sit for a few hours and that your hose does'nt block up with sugar crystalisation if you use the same hose repeatively ! The best usage i found using this method was at the start of flowering during lights on for the last 3 hrs of the stetch phase over 2 weeks i was using 500gms of sweetness every 5-7 days max ! My grow seemed to have a faster bud set and the stretch was 2 inches each day ! I'm still sitting on the fence about the facts ! Could be that i had a rare bottle of nutes ! Good luck mate ! for any one that knows does this work if it does is it worth if for what you get

and with co2 done right in a co2 machine i hear that you cant go in your room for like at least 1 or 2hrs (at a guess) heard it some time ago is it the same for this one ? or is this right at all

If your growing anything over 2m x 2m space, and you got the money, yeah I recommend a proper Co2 system if you want to go that way, but it ain't cheap and the set up and timing of your injectors is quite tricky at first.

This is just so if you want Co2 and haven't got a lot of cash, it will cost you like under $5 to have Co2 circulating around your buds while you flower. Just take the thread for what it is, a cheap easy Co2 system. Tent wise, seen as they draw from the bottom up, with a good centri running it will keep the co2 moving up through the canopy until it is exhausted out your ducting at the top of the tent, and yes, I know Co2 is heavier than air.

This system gives a boost of co2 while flowering and is not metered or measured or intended to even compare with a pro CO2 set -up. I have used it, it does work and when summers coming and your temps rise, you'll be glad for even just a boost of co2, as temps over 26-28 will put extra pressure on your plants. Humidity does not spike with this system as with bottled CO2 as the ventilation system stays on constantly and the co2 is a constant suppliment, not a gassing of the plants with co2- ventillation off, in intervals and then re-activation of the ventilation system. It is this sharp rise in Co2 that causes the humidity to rise accordingly.

hey hazedaze, hope the missus aint a good shot with that fryin pan mate what sort of mower 2 stroke or 4.. have not used co2 of anysort before so im playing it by ear but for 5 bucks and 1 hr when ya bored,ill be stoked with ANY diff at all so ill wait till i experiment with it myself cheers for the input
