Mogul Socket

Ive got a 600w ballast and globe at my old ladies in sydney.. and the only problem is now that ive used all my cash to get into a place and i might just have enough to bring the ballast over. My problem is: I might have to veg with 48w fluoros for the first two weeks of my three/four week veg period, and i reckon this is going to really damage my final yield.. so I was thinking, if i get the ballast and globe sent over, can I just buy a mogul socket and wire up my own concoction and just hang the light vertically with some dodgy shaped bit of scrap metal.. just for two weeks until i get another pay.. So to my question... What are these mogul sockets worth, where do i fi…

Light lumens 1 2 3

Just wanted to know if there was a guide somewhere to the lumen output of the different HID lighting lamps. In particular I was after the 1kW Metal Halide specs, since I think the 600w HPS' are like 90,000 lumens. While Im here I might as well ask this: I can get 2x 1kW Metal Halide kits for cheap and wanted to know if they would be much better than 2x 600w HPS'... Im thinking they would be but in an apartment it would probably be cooler running the blue spectrum, would it not? Also, I dont want to have too high of a power consumption from the apartment, but I think 2kW is ok 12hours a day. Im planning on growing about 10 clones or so plus some seeds in a small bedroom …

"Many growers are reporting improved flowering vigour through reducing their light times gradually when it is time to go to Bloom, especially those who are growing with The Program. Instead of dropping straight to 12 hours from their vegetative stage of 18-20 hours, they are reducing the light time by 2 hours a day, gently taking the plants into flowering. This is closer to what happens naturally outdoors and so far all reports have been positive. " anyone heard of or tried this?

I'm looking at buying a couple of lights to get ready for my indoor grow. I'm debating weather to get 3x 400HPS or 2x 600HPS both types will be with adjustashades. Also I can't decide weather to go for the medium sized adjustashade 60x55cm or the large adjustashade 98x70cm The room will most likely be 1.25m deep x 3-4m wide x 2m high and I'll be growing 3 to 4 large plants. First grow will most likely be a soil grow, and I might try DWC on the 2nd or 3rd (if I can be bothered ) Please post your opinions :thumbsup PS Don't really want to use 1000HPS

Hello all and here goes it 4 my 1st post. I am setting up a grow which will have two areas set up. I have 1 area about 1.5m wide by 1.2m deep and around 1.2m high. This area i was going to try and use for my seedlings/early veg stage. Have another room around 1.2m by 1.2m by around 2m high whcih was gonna be my flowering setup. I was intending to put a 600w son-t in the flowering room but needed a few suggestions as to the lighting in my veg room. Going off the dimensions besides lighting any other suggestions would be appreciated. At one stage i was thinking of using a nice bank of rotating cool spectrum 5000k fluoros in my veg room, then transfering them to …

Anyone? Was thinking Id probably be able to make a large shade for less than a third of the cost of a new one. I only got a small shithouse shade for my 600w, and Ill be needing something decent. A good new shade for cheap is worth about $60, so I was thinking about just buying the light fitting for $25, and making my own large shade. It doesnt have to be angled much or anything, just a large V. I knew there was a post somewhere about these, chasing it up now.

Heya all i was wondering if anyone had done any research on the best temperatures for plants to be in at different stages of there growth cycle. I am also curious as to the different climatic inclinations of different breeds do the incs like it hotter than the sats or vise versa and do cross breeds react strangely to these temperatures. I know im pushing it here but would anyone have any ideas about the ideal humidity or if it would even matter. Im guessing that the plants all around would prefere moving air rather than static air but what sort of flow rates are we talking here (i dunno how this would be measured) just to throw some food for thought a nursery frie…

I have 5 seedlings under a 400w (about a meter under) temp is 24-25c, small room, small window opened 1-2'' wide, small ocillating fan, room door closed. Two plants although seeded at the same time are over twice the size of other 3 -- all were revived after many leaves turning yellow due to 10 times too much nute. I pruned dead leaves, flushed 3 times, adjusted to correct nute strength and plants revived in a few days and began growing healthy leaves. One problem -- they start to droop about 2-3 hrs before the light is due to turn of f -- even though they have enough water and temp is not higher than 26c tops. Do I need more ventilation or is 18hrs too much for them. T…

Just wanted to know if my only option for ventilating an area would be a centrifugal fan and carbon filter.. I was looking at these: 150mm fan - 15m3 per minute - $225 150mm x 400mm carbon filter - $210 Can I use an inline 200cm fan for like $150+ which pushes the same air but quieter.. and my own home made carbon filter with much success? Ill be using one 600w HPS so far... after this crop ill buy new equipment, so it just needs to be able to get a crop flowered.

Hey Stoners. Had a bit of interest in the Cool Tubes i use and am looking at getting a few more made. Just wondering if anyone else would be keen? Obviously the more i get made the cheaper they are so i can;t give an exact price on em yet but they'd be quite reasonable. Freight would be the biggest cost but once again the more the cheaper and it will take a little time to get everything sorted so let us know what you think? You can run them solo or i've had manifolds made up that allow you to run a few together off one intake and one exhuast fan. designs can be modified..... cheers c
