All Your Lighting Needs I cant seem to find enough conclusive information on lights here without having to view 100 different threads, so i thought to bring the community within OZ together. Is the power quoted on a lamp the input (how much it drains) or output (how much it throws) power? NOTE: my Nelson 48W CFLs quote an output equivalent to 200W (240? threw box away) incandescent. Forget about the comparative output for a moment, does such a lamp draw 48W of power? Does a 250 HPS draw 250W? Another way of asking would be: Is the output power of a 600MH 600W? and if so then what is it's power input (drain)? _IF_ the number is an indicator of output power then the input power is 'rating' (eg 48W) + losses. _IF_ it's input power then output is rating - losses. My little Nelsons are doing OK for the 18/6, the young ladies under them appear to be growing…

Okay, so things are finally starting to look up for me. Soon I may have the type of cash needed to buy proper equipment and start growing a couple of plants for myself for real. The big problem I'm faced with right now is WHERE! I've got a little cupboard that would be absolutely perfect. It's hidden behind a door and is very easy to overlook. The biggest problem with it though is ventilation. Here's a pic.. As you can see it's pretty deep. It's also split into 2 sections with the bottom giving quite a bit of height for the plants to grow and a rod to hang a light from. The right hand wall is wood and on the other side there's another cupboard with a power point i…

Im in the process of building a stealth cab and Im ready to start getting all the lights, fans and such. I spotted the 'growlush' one on ebay for 120 (250hps ballast & globe and a reflector) from aussieponics. Anyone have any experience with this brand or aussieponics? Is it possible to use the 250hps for veg aswell as flower? I also plan on getting one of those 150mm by 400mm cooltubes and building a reflector around it any ideas? Now for the fans, any reccomendations for a good quiet brand?

just wondering if the price difference is worth paying for a digital ballast, or if the old reliables are best. the only way i can see them being of benefit is it they save money on power? does anyone know if they do or does any wanna give pro's and cons of either ballast? cheers!

A few days ago I went to my local store and seen these lights, it said "Cool" worklight 480watts and it looked like the one on this page although more expensive $150. Well I didn't see anything else in the store and I was already late so I picked these up. Then when I got them at my home and opened the box I realized there is no bulbs included. I'm also a bit unsure if this is going to be any good? I don't have transport so it will be difficult to take them back so please tell me if these will be any good (once I buy the bulbs)? Here is a few pics and the specs are on the box in the pics: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3602/3637599506_4d8ff0afbd_b.jpg http://farm4.s…
