I recently got myself a 90w UFO LED and rigged it up in a wardrobe. Whilst waiting for seed to arrive I put in some cherry tomato seeds just to practice growing, and to iron out any mistakes with my pumps/timers etc before I risk all on the precious mj seeds. I really don't want to get into a 'which lighting is best' debate. I went for LED because of the low electricity consumption, minimal waste heat in a wardrobe, very small amount of grow space available, and most of all - my outright curiosity. I havn't found much about LED on this site so I'm putting out an ask to see if there are other LED growers here; and as well, if folk are interested, I'll happily post my e…

Ok so I've finally decided to go with CFL's (cbf doing too much for vent with the HID thing) and I've been looking around and I haven't been able to find any CFL globes that are larger than 20W! Are they availible in australia at all? or is it just like everything else, we're just so slow?: ( Also, with my set up I have an area 1500x800x500, I plan on growing 2 plants at a time, would 7 bulbs@20W each be enough for 2 plants? And the long tube fluro's, are they of any use? Thanks!

I am currently using a jupiter lightrail with a crossbar and have three 600w hps on it. I've got 4 plants under each lamp. It's a 2 metre rail, but at moment because size of plants, it's only running over a distance of 4 feet. As the plants increase in size i will be running full 2 metres. I was wondering if using a lightrail increase's the flowering period of the plants, they are 8 week flowerer's. Because the light is not constantly on the plants and it is constantly moving back and forth will it mean that iwill have to keep them under the lights for an extra couple of days/weeks or what, could someone give me any info they might have on this, thanx

have a qestion for ya mate. when changing to bud after dark, does going into 12 12 with the metal halide or whatever u use to veg, make your plants any different from doing it under the hps . have found that everyone does the change under the hps so i have no experience with that . like can you go 12 12 with your veg lamp and then into bud after the two weeks or do you have to go straight to hps for good yeild. i would like to know as i have no access to clones, am starting from seed and dont like the idea of having a mother plant always sitting around and want to only put females in my setup . Have trouble with genetics so have to sort peoples fucking shitty crosses out …

I just finished making a small growbox just for vegging that is made from a 500mm(h) X 400mm(w) X 300 (depth) out of a strong cardbourd box and have lined it inside with panda film.I chucked in 2 120mm computer fans for inlet and an outlet of air and through in a 49watt cfl at the top horizontally. I have been testing it for the last few hours to see what temp it will get to and highest it will reach is 18c.Is this too cold for me babies?I have central heating in the house but cant have it on too much cause it costs heaps to run.

Seen this on ebay.Have a look and tell me what you guys/gals think. If it were good to have in a growbox/tent that would mean no need to purchase a carbon filter.Im just not sure if it would harm the plant in any way,it might take away the potent bud smell.http://cgi.ebay.com.au/2-IONMAX-negative-Ion-Ionic-Purifier-CFL-Light-Bulb-B22_W0QQitemZ250438280065QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Lighting_Fans?hash=item3a4f48e381&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50

So i was in my local store today and the employees whom i have come to befriend were raving about a newish product and technology that is out. They told me that this bulb has been the single most amazing thing they have seen in recent growing science. This is a bulb made my Life Light Technologies that use's intense 10k UV-A blue light. (They say it appears more purple and is very intense, needing dark shades to even look at.) You are supposed to use it for the final week, or even last 2 weeks. They told me that they actually used it and that the results were incredible. They said that the crystal quantities were about 10 times what they were previously and the appearance…
