I haven't started to build yet as I have a cash flow prob at the moment, so I am looking into cheaper alternatives to the parts needed for my wanted grow-drobe. I have pooTubed a bit and found some interesting videos on how to make your own carbon filter.. my questions are: (other than has anyone made their own filter before?) Do you have to use activated carbon, or can you just make your own charcoal in a barrel in your backyard and use that? and, if anyone has made one before, what did you use for the basic structure?? Do I have to make it like a proper filter, or can I make it like a gas mask filter??? (because if I can then I can make it out of stuff around the …

I'm thinking of purchasing a 400w hps light and reflector and ballast kit. I might get a 600w, im unsure. Probably a 400w. How heavy is all this? I know I would be able to put the ballast on the ground but the light (and standard reflector) would be hung from the coat hanger bar in my wardrobe. So any idea how heavy it would be? I have no idea and I don't want it collapsing, it isn't the strongest built wardrobe ever. thanks

hey guys, i've figured that the reason my plants are growing so slow (at 5 weeks biggest one is still only 2 inches tall), is cos of the cold temps. im hand watering atm so water heaters arnt an option, im gonna go with a res for my next grow but in the mean time how can i warm up my babies? p.s. a proper room heater isnt a favorable option, would one of those heat mats be best?

Although I run a thermo control, my exhaust on a hot day sucks the plastic of the walls. Does this negative pressure in the room effect plants?

I have had an ongoing problem with radiant heat/in room air circulation causing "canoe" leaf curl in my wardrobe grow. https://cannabis.community.forums.ozstoners...25051&st=16 At this stage my only solution is to have the lights over 1 metre above the plants. I'm running two 600W HPS inside a floor to ceiling inbuilt wardrobe. At that height the plant is fairly happy but any closer and we've got trouble. Strangely the thermometer on the wall above the height of the plants reads low-mid 20's. I've always been aware that the addition of oscillating room fans could help but I cannot find any small enough to fit in the wardrobe. I have looked everywhere. Does anyone kno…

SO WHAT!!! I have 2 timers on specific on/off intervals and they are in 'common view'. OK, 'stealth' would have just the one plug used and the timers would be out of the way. I don't have to bother much about stealth. I can't help but show my feminine aspect, I reckon they look cute. Little '2 pack' of timers Bunnings had while I was looking around. They also had singles, and I only needed another one, but I couldn't resist (matched timers). NOTE: Watch Bunnings pricing, these were marked ~12 bucks on the shelf, cost me 16 at the checkout (like I care) and unlike Coles they wanted PROOF by getting some yobbo to walk down the aisle. I told the young lass to forget it…

So I was looking for something to improve my shitty cloning situation and i thought i may as well splash out and buy a new light. So I thought those LED panels look ok, and if theyre not too crash hot well its only for cloning so no great loss. Plus, someone has to try em out sooner or later. Has anyone given em a go yet or will it be me? I was thinking of buying two CFLs then i thought 2 of the Aussieponics LED panels are only 20 extra (60each) so why not. Yeah Yeah, its Aussieponics but ive learnt my lesson - send em to a friends! Anyone got experience or tried LEDs yet?

hey guys, im new to this forum and have a few questions about starting up an indoor grow. ok so ive got a setup in mind for a sea of green and plan to get a perpetual harvest crackin aswell. i have pulled several outdoor crops and enjoyed every moment of it. so im thinkin its time to grow some sweet indoor goodness. i saw a reall great setup on here that im going to try and adapt for the room i have in mind. im pretty sure ill have ventilation, electricity issues such as ballasts and safe wiring, humidity, nutrients and room temperature covered but am curious about the lighting situation. ok so the setup involves four trays of some sort, one for each 2 weeks of flowerin…

i'm looking at fans here and noticing that you can get a 250mm inline fan which goes 300l/s and costs $97. or i could go a mixed flow 150mm fan which goes 155l/s and pay $170. it's to be used with a carbon filter attached - why would i not get the larger fan? is it because under the slightest load it's performance greatly decreases or?? i can't see any reason besides that of why i'd get the mixed flow? can anyone help?

i've got a 400W HPS already, the space is perfect for 2, but one still covers everything. i'm asking do you guys think the light intensity from 2 x 400W would be greater than 1 x 600W? or the benefits from 2 x 400W would be worthwhile paying the extra money for power? 1 x 600W or 2 x 400W? i'm going for yield here fellas
