hello again guys, looking for some advice or reassurance, i use a 400W bulb currently and the bill to run my set up is about $300 for it all. i'm wanting to setup up another 400W, upsize my air extraction and shit. so that's 800W and about an extra $350 for me per quarter because the energy rates increase after a certain amount. i'm wanting to know if many people use more power than this? i mean i'm just worried that it will become a highlight on the energy company's computer. i know they don't mind us paying more etc.. but has anyone come across problems or got attention because they used too much power? air cons and shit use 1500 - 2000W and i'm sure some people have th…

Hey guys I was just thinking, if i had a 600w mh for veg, and then switched to 400w hps for flower, would that be detrimental to the plant because of the change in wattage? Or is the colour spectrum the most important thing you need to worry about? Wouldnt it be better to just use the light with the higher wattage?

I have calculated that 110 L/s of Airflow would be enough for me. I was wondering why i should fork out the extra money to get an inline fan over a domestic exhaust. I was looking the two below fans. ANY advice would be appreciated! Hi all, my name is..... shirt and I really liked the some of your discussions so I thought I should try and join this cool kids club... I couldn't find a welcome page so thought I'd introduce myself here is that OK? edit, oohh found the welcome page oops Hopefully my questions are not too stupid and when they are you're all kind enough to humour me. So.... Hypothetically given a space of 1m2 and 2m high and all other factors(temp humidity etc) being equal what differences would result in using a 400, 600 or a 1000 watt light of course each placed at its optimum height Would I get any differences in density, yield or other plant form? Such as I don't know but he…

I have a 250w hps JB ballast. When I plug it in it starts making this loud 'rattling' sound which gets alot louder when I plug the light in. The noise stops if pressure is put on the side?

So this is the cupboard/wardrobe I will be using to grow for my first time . The dimensions for the main part is... Height: 139.5cm Width: 80.5cm Depth: 47.5cm How many plants can I grow in this area (not SoG)? It looks like I could get two in at least but what about a third or forth? 400w hps or 600w hps? Does anyone have any online shops they would like to recommend. I would rather buy a kit that includes light, ballast, socket and reflector. http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/9109/photo1acg.jpg http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/6749/photo2fxk.jpg Now for ventilation.. My idea is to create a hole on the right side up the top which leads into the other compartme…

I have been hunting the online suppliers, ebay, and phoned my favourite local shop and NO ONE sells 250W digital ballasts as far as I can tell. Does anyone here know a supplier, preferably Australian, who sells these? Lumatek have one on their website. They do exist but I just can't seem to find them... I don't want to go larger and get a 400W, as I have a SMALL space and can't easily deal with the heat problems, and I only have one plant on the go at a time. All help appreciated thanks

While browsing my favourite store (Bunnings) I was looking at ventilation I need now but will REALLY NEED shortly. The very helpful bloke from B suggested looking at an HPM 'kit' for my nephew's 'chemistry cabinet'. The included 5m of 150mm ducting should satisfy my requirements for the cupboards, couple of questions though... (and I wasn't quite cashed up enough to buy it on the spot, $240, including fan) What is the minimum 'turning circle' of 150mm flexiduct? I intend coming in through the back of the area above my red (flower) room, putting the duct through a 450deg turn as light trap, and ending the 'entry run' near the bottom of my 1.4m height. I want a couple…

http://www.urbangardenershop.com.au/product/484/default.asp Anyone seen these? I was just wondering how they worked and how effectively? If it was all in one, that wouldn't be too bad.

Since I'm a first-time grower and my 2 little babies have just sprouted, I'm raising the seedlings inside my wardrobe with a low-watt desk lamp! Only 20 watts. It's working, although slowly, but I've decided not to buy all that expensive hydro equipment - I'll be growing outdoors. So once they grow to be about 10cm high with the fan leaves, then I'll transplant them to the wild. In the meantime, here's my setup: As you can see, I've had to cut a circular hole into the top of the box to allow the lamp to fit. This way it reduces the amount of light escaping into the wardrobe at night: My first seedling, already with 2 sets of serrated leaves: My second seedling,…
