Hey Guys, just wondering if anyone can fill me in on alittle info about cooltubes. I want to swap out the bat wing I have at the moment, but I need to know: How big of a fan do I need attached to it? 1000W is alot of heat so I imagine it needs alot of airflow. Will an inline fan do the job, or do I need a centrifugal? I'll probably duct it into the existing duct work I have for the tent, so the fan wont have to push through a carbon filter or anything like that. Is there alot of lumen loss due to the Glass? and how close to the tops can I have the lights in a cooltube. Forgive the n00b questions

Hi all:) I hope I can get some advice about my future grow room. I only want to grow one plant at a time in the grow tent, using as little energy as possible. I think my lighting and tent situation is okay (although any advice would be great), but would really appreciate any suggestions for my ventilation needs. I will be living in an apartment, so can't really use any ducting to the outside. I intend to use a small ozone (corona) generator for smell in the tent, but would like to bring air into the grow room and then extract it. I am wondering if it's okay to have a timer that would control the intake fan (perhaps for 5 minutes in the hour), then use the ozone gener…

Hey guys, i've recently started my own little grow cabinet in my house. It is about 50cm x 30cm x 70cm and i walled out with aluminum foil. I have started germination on my two seeds that i will put in a 1L pot. I was just wondering on how much light i willl need to adequatly grow my plant and how many hours is recommended of light per day. I do not know the strain of the seeds. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, cheers.

hi all, just starting to set up my first grow room and wondering how many 130w cfl bulbs i should use. i am planning to build a room around 2400mmlong x 1200wide x 2000 high. i have found 4 130w cfl bulbs on ebay.heres the link http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...em=370338836024 . i am going to make my own shade from folded aluminium to house them all. would that be enough light for good veg or should i go more. any help would be appreciated, thanks

Hi all Would http://cgi.ebay.com.au/EZI-AIR-INLINE-FAN-...p3286.m20.l1116 Built into the side of a METAL growbox, running a 400w MH for veg 600w HPS for Flowering. with a small fan inside the box, for air circulation, provide enough ventilation and control the temps from getting too high. I'll be growing DWC. 4 plants at a time. See the thing im unsure about is the fact of the growbox being METAL, idk how this will affect temps, the best way i know would be just to try it out first, but just thought someone might have some input before hand. Thanks Oh the growbox is about 50cm wide 50cm long 120cm high.

hi all this is my 3rd grow in garden shed 3.0x2.0x1.8m im using 3000watts hps. I have had nothing but problems with the heat this summer With the temp getting up to 58 degress in my grow box, there not growing in this hot leaving dying look like total shit. My last cycle temps were getting to 40 with NO OUT TAKE, they looked better then this time with good outake. maybe a good solution to buy portable aircon? ive noticed my portable aircon i got for my house says its has an active carbon filter, negative ion generator and tio2 lamp is this anygood? Or do anyone have cheaper ideas on keeping temp down in the summer? Also the water in my resorvior gets to about 40 degress i…

I need to know the temp of a 1000 watt MH in a room about 75 degrees or at or about 25 degree Cel. Thanks O yea How r the housing prices in Austrialia Getting tiressd of these cold winters. After some thought i've decided to ditch all other options and go the hid path. I'm about to buy a hps light set up, have run my measurements thru the calculator and have been given 250w as the general lighting ballpark. Its only a single plant grow, and i'm sure 250w should do a great job. but the question is, can i push the limits a little and go for a 400w or is this just wasted as there is only so much light a plant can photosynthesis???? the other obvious draw back would be increased heat. so, in short, stick with the recomended 250w setup, or do i go to 400w the other option i have is to go 250w for veg and growth, then as flowering occurs i can add a second 250W. …

Hey guy's just a quick question i have a 400w and a 600w hps now not sure which one i should use, obviously i dont want to burn my babies so should i stick to 400w for veg and flower or use 400w for veg then switch to 600 for flower? (more light=bigger bud right?) or should i just stick with 600 all the way? i kno people say use mh for veg but funds are a lil tight at the moment due to bugger all work at the moment (will get one next grow). the grow room is 450deepx850widex1.5high (res tank is already in and thats what im left with) thanks guys Livo

Hi to all It's been a long time since I have had to turn off my lights in bloom, and I can't remember if this is a wise thing to do? My Mrs has 2 days off, first time in 3 years and we would really like to get away but it means turning my 2 x 600's off whilst plants are 4 weeks into bloom- would not consider leaving them on while I am not here to check on them. What are the ramifications if I turn them off and they miss 2 days of light, meaning 2 of their regular light periods, with lights back on the 3rd light period. Has anyone done this? Hello, I'm new to HID lighting and was wondering if there is a 400 watt HPS globe that will run off a 400 watt MH ballast, or, do I need to purchase a separate ballast? Any info would be greatly appreciated, I'm about 2 weeks from switching over to the flowering cycle and was told that HPS has a much better spectrum for flowering?

So heres the deal, im in the process of constructing a grow box for 1 possibly two plants and am struggling with finding the right lighting. Im going organic as opposed to hydro, and first of all cant decide between HID and cfls. I've heard that cfls are cheaper and not as hot as the HID which is good for me, but do they achieve as good results? Also what wattage would i need for either HID or cfls? i've heard from 70 watts to 150 ea. thats a big difference. its confusing. Any advice would be great. TGD
