Hi All, Anybody know much about ozone for odour control. I've had some good reviews from others but wanted to know what your views are. I've been told that as long as you have an area to vent into ie a shed to give time for the ozone to work rather than venting it straight outside, it works wonders All info is welcome Merl1n

hey guys and gals Just got a few questions about carbon filters, i plan to buy a centrifugal fan with it so i don't get issues with inadequacy in air flow 1) how well do they work? do they do a good job at eliminating odor. 2)how long do they last? 3)is a carbon filter it something i will be replacing once a year? more frequently or do they just keep going and going? 4)is there a way to clean the smell out of a carbon filter and "rejuvenate" it? thanks for your help ppl Sylar420 out

Gidday people. Newbie starting out here. Going to attempt a 2 plant grow soon for personal medicinal use - I have glaucoma and my missus has a brain tumour - so any help that can be given to me would be of great help. I only have a small space roughly HxWxD 100cmX60cmX50cm which I will build a box for. My main concern is the lighting, I want to use CFL's but I know from googling and trawling that the Y splitters that the Yanks use aren't legal here, so can anyone point out an easy method of getting say 4 CFL's onto some kind of lighting strip, do they sell something like that at bunnings? I'm not electrical so I couldn't wire one up. another concern is a fan that wo…

Hi to all After 6 years of having my carbon filter (1000mm x 400mm) and centrifugal fan (U310) mounted to the roof of my grow room (2 x 600w lights), I now find the need to do something about the vibration, as the normally empty bedroom under the the grow room is going to be used by someone. At present, I have a 2 foot piece of ducting - (with a 90 degree bend)- coming out of the fan - which is bolted straight onto the filter, and then venting into the roof. If I take it down from the roof and just have it standing in a corner, I will have around 5 to 6 foot of ducting coming out the back of the fan and into the roof, but the bend will be much less than 90 degree, if…

I was wondering if someone with an electrical background could answer this for me please. Is the power spike caused by the bulb being lit or the ballast being turned on? If someone was using a flip flop where the ballasts were running 24/7 would the power spike every 12 hours when the other set of lights are flipped on (considering already warm and running ballasts). Is there any way of checking this out for myself?? I assumed it was the ballast turning on that caused the power spike. I also thought that running the ballasts 24/7 (with a flip flop) would actually eliminate this power spike, after the initial turn on. But I have been known to be wrong once before so…

Are the boxes that let you use the ballasts 24 hours a day, with their own timer/switch (to contol two flower rooms side by side), called flip flops, or is there another name for them? Also, where in Australia would one be able to buy one that would run two 600 watt HPS's? Or has someone already explained this and I can't find it? I found instructions on an international forum, but that is not suited to our 240 volt setups. So if anyone knows where to buy one, how much, or preferably how to build and what parts to ask for and where to get them from online...... Hmm, am I asking too much? Any help/advice would be great.

My little 30cm tall plants have been going beautifuly with the old MH light set at 1300mm away, the leaves pointed up in the air & leaf internodes were 25mm between.(very healthy looking)! Since changing the old globe to a new one & adding the 600w cooltube in the closet,(i havent played with the digital HPS yet) i followed the light height placement guide on Cannaversity. I moved the lights down to the roughly optimum recomended 45cm away from top of plant. The room temperature & humidity levels are exactly the same as when everything was running smoothly, but now my leaf internodes are 5mm & the leaves are green looking, but facing downwards & the…

After any info regarding a new light ballast i am going to purchase. I currently have a 400w MH setup in the closet that i have been using for the goannas over the last ten yrs.I am also running a small compact setup which consists of 2 Exoterra 10.0s & Exoterra 2.0s for higher light output. I'd like to add a second setup in the closet on top of whats there. So my research has come up with me buying a Next Gen Digital Ballast 400w with a Powerplant Super HPS 400w globe. Is this the best setup for a 6ft x3ft robe? Or should i go the 600w HPS & forget the original MH i have been using. Anyone been using these products? Or recommend anything better? I have decided i …

Hey guys i was reading another forum somewhere about this guys other grow, because he didn't know when he would be able to access the flower room as he worked he used a green light so he could work in the flower room while the lights were off. He said something along the lines that plants can't take in the green spectrum of light so it doesn't blow the dark cycle. Has any one heard of this or know if there is any truth in this as it would be good to have 24hr access to the flower room, thanks

Hi folks, Well my stealth closet is just about finished is coming along nicely (although at 1.8 metres high I’m realising its not leaving a lot of room for the plant to grow what with a carbon filter inside at the top and the lamp underneath that but hey I’m not that heavy a smoker so anything is good for me. When I do come across a good cheap big closet I think I will set that up but in the meantime Im happy. What I wanted to pick your brains about however is the issue of humidity. I have a 6 inch exhaust fan pulling air through the carbon filter which seems to work ok and is not too loud. I have 4 passive intake holes cut into the floor of 3 inches diameter each so…

Hi guys i need some advice on how to make my fan quieter. I have a 150mm Axial Spectrum fan, surrounded by 200mm x 3m of Insulated Ducting, The fan can still be heard from the road. What is the next step to reduce the noise? I would like to get out of this as cheaply as possible, the options i have thought of are; Wrapping 250mm insulated ducting around the 200 150mm Odor Sok (would it be able to pull air through this?) Some sort of silencer box (made of Styrofoam) or other material to be advised? An extra x m of ducting Fan controller Thanks guys, your help would be appreciated.
